Seriously though, I can't stand all these stupid gimmicks that Nintendo is pulling out because they can't succeed otherwise and I can't stand the fact that Microsoft and Sony are so desperately copying them. I'm not even excited for the next generation because from what I can tell, it's all about these worthless gimmicks.
And Nintendo's main franchises have seriously gone down in quality recently. Twilight Princess sucked, and although I haven't played it, Skyward Sword looks really stupid from everything I have seen; it just can't stand up to other action adventure games on the 360. Of course this is mostly the fan's fault since they constantly complained about the two best Zelda games ever, Majora's Mask and Wind Waker, for being original and innovative.
Metroid also went to crap with Metroid Prime 3. Super Mario Galaxy 1+2 are the only truly good games that the Wii has. I haven't touched the Wii since Super Mario Galaxy 2 came out other than to play Gamecube games.

If nintendo made a SICK!! zelda game or metroid game, i would ditch xbox for a while for those games. I mean just imagine metroid with halo 4 graphics!

I wont go into a big rant about motion controls and how they've been forced into games where it makes them painful to play (waggling a wiimote instead of pressing a button to jump ain't cool). It also pisses me off that M$ are pushing that Kinect gimmick garbage and lets not forget PS Move.
But thats the least of my concerns for next generation...what concerns me most is the potential tightening up of drm and the direction M$ is driving things. I may end up being a PC only gamer if things get too out of hand too soon.
