No worries Willyumz. Seems like we kind of share a similar opinion, that a lot of things should be taken into consideration and not just any one thing!![]()
does it even matter if your old or new?
for me what matters is what they do on the forum here and how much they love the game
and certianly the old members have shown their love already by being here long and some other stuff that might be forgotten by now
but just playing the game for a long time isn't enough for me, they need to have made this forum a better place
anyway new members should have as much chance of getting tf, problem for new members however is that they don't know how much has been done already so their opinion is incomplete
someone make a timemachine in the editor so we can join on 1st day![]()
That might be true, but that shouldn't really matter as long as you are a TF that is trying to make a contribution, out of pure true fannerismOriginally Posted by sparkierjonesz

It's a good job the Olympics didn't have the trials fan's handing out medals ain't it, you'd be giving the gardeners Gold's, the architects of the stadium Gold's & Usain Bolt wouldn't even be handed a Bronze, because that would go to the guy who's paid for tickets to the last 4 Olympics showing his dedication. So why don't Shockwave & Chicago deserve a lasting reward by their name? They do, they have done the hardest thing possible in the HD & Evo. Anyways what ever, redlynx will give it someone thats only known on here & thats how it works. And I don't think anyone who puts a case forward for them selfs to get it deserves it at all, thats just not right, thats licking ***!
Not really an accurate analogy. Usain Bolt is not a fan of the Olympics, he's a competitor. The fans are the ones in the crowd watching him.
Therefore, a "true fan" is not the competitor in first place, it is the spectator who loves and supports the sport the most.
you think usain bolt is not a 'fan' of athletics? just because he is good enough to compete doesnt mean he is not a fan, nor that he is not supporting the sport.Originally Posted by JaminBen007
in my opinion, the opposite. he loves athletics enough to dedicate his life to it, and become the greatest in the world. if thats not a True Fan of something, what is?
Firstly, are we really comparing ChicagoAJ to Usain Bolt? I mean come on...
Secondly, I guess this is where we disagree. Sure Usain Bolt likes athletics, but I don't count him as a "fan" in the traditional sense because it's his job, he's being paid to do it. A true fan does it off their own back, purely out of love and dedication.
Its like everything else on here at the moment..everyone whos everyone feels that they are entitled to it..ever since TOTW and redlynx picks started,it has kick started a serge like you get at a shop when the sales are on,of everyone kind of putting themselves forward for this..its not something that will be habded around with ease..if we all take a second and think that TRUE FAN,like totw and redlynx picks, are a prestigious award.totw is given to the highest most better than best track for that week..( an honour) if you like..a redlynx pick is given to the track that the redlynx pickers think is the best track( for wot ever reason), so true fan will be deemed the same..its not going to be handed out like candy..
Also, they wont tell us what to do.thats up to us if we want the award....
well i wasnt comparing them, someone else was.Originally Posted by JaminBen007
and for the second part you kind of answered yourself; you cant compare them, because as you said, it is Usains career. but on the flipside, Trials is not AJs career... so he is a fan. A big enough fan of the game to practice, persist, dedicate and become the best in the world which is no easy feat. why should we only recognise people for being helpful fans, and not talented fans also?
i dont see why its frowned upon to recognise skill, in riding or building... you're not born with it, you earn it by putting time and effort into the game, which to me is what a True Fan should be doing.
dont take it the wrong way anyway mate, not trying to kick off about it... i just think this sort of stuff is worth discussing if members are allowed to nominate people![]()
It's cool it's not taken the wrong way. I guess it's because of what I've already said here, in that the top players are unfortunately a bit big headed and proud for my liking, and boosting their already inflated egos with this award wouldn't help that.
If they showed a bit of modesty every now and again I'd be all for giving a top player an award like this, but the fact is they don't, so I'd much rather see it given to the dedicated yet humble, someone for whom it will mean something rather than just another trophy for an overfilled cabinet.
