    Area condition resetting (resolved)

I've just noticed a problem and am wondering if anybody else has experienced this.

In my latest track I have a couple area conditions that are activated after the finish depending on which medal is won. Both area conditions have the cloud alpha set to 0 so the sky is clear and you can see stars. However once during testing the cloud alpha reset so the clouds were visible again (and white clouds really stick out against a black sky in a bad way) no other values I saw had changed, just the cloud alpha. I turned the values back down to 0, tested the track for a few hours and it was all good. I uploaded the track and went to bed. Now I've come to discover that in my uploaded track the cloud alpha has reset again. I don't want to upload a new version of the track for such a small error but at the same time having the clouds visible not only ruins the look I was going for but it looks like total crap.

A little upset and just wondering if this is a common issue. Also if I do decide to try correcting it and uploading a new version does anybody know anything I can do to make sure it doesn't happen again?

    Thanks
    VP

    Re: Area condition resetting

Have you tried a variable data source (VDS) and a set event (set to 0)

Tie the custom weather to the VDS, and change that # based on the result you want. Did you use the game condition events? Could do End game, then the that sends an impulse to the medal condition, which sets the value to the VDS.

Hope this makes sense, if not I can try and make a video of this (or maybe do this anyway) or try to make it clearer.

Edit- Ok apparently my internet is being slow for some reason and the video is going to take an hour to upload. But it is uploading. Hopefully it goes faster. Heres link, can check to see when its live.

make sure the object the area condition is tracking is inside the area condition bubble.

    Re: Area condition resetting

    thanks for the tips, guys.

Jarr3tt88, the variable data source is what I went for as a fix, just tied the cloud alpha to a data source set to 0. I also deleted one of the conditions (they were almost exactly the same) and had it activate with a state event instead of using the active camera as it previously was. Hoping I find some more problems so I can justify uploading a new version.

dasraiser, the activating object was a custom camera that is always right next to it, the fade is set to 0, so the condition is either fully on or fully off. The problems wasn't having it activate, the problem is that the setting within the condition changed so instead of no clouds there are heavy clouds and it looks like crap.

it's solved now but just to illustrate here is what it was set to look like:

and here's what it looks like in the uploaded version:
