I think I may have stumbled across something pretty significant.
I have always had trouble with the hill climb on Down in the Dumps. For me it was probably worse than 50/50 if I'd get up it without lifting away or flipping over.
I'm not a bad rider so that obstacle has always bugged me as one of the most inconsistent.
I spent an hour trying to hit that hill today and had poor results.
For some reason I decided to change my wheels from alloy to reinforced.
Now that hill climb is a breeze!
QC tested for me too so I could get a second opinion and his reaction was the same as mine.
The difference is night and day.
Please try for yourself. The more people confirming this the better!
i was pretty sure that all the parts were only cosmethic and didn't change handling, but i'll try and see if i get any result.
They are, it might just help you see the wheels in a different way, though.Originally Posted by stiggyhead
I'm also finding the wheels catch less on the edges too.
i'll try it man. i'll only try it cos i know you're not a nutter! if anyone else had posted it i'd be all "it's cosmetic you nonce"
so which wheels are the reinforced ones? i use the ones on the very right of the selection, i don't know the names of the wheels. not a car/bike buff at all. not a manly man in that way.
They are called reinforced.
Far right is lightweight.
I think it's all mental. It's all in your head that it works better because you jut changed it. I bet if you would have changed your bikes exhaust pipe to bright pink and you all of a sudden started hitting that hill ten you woul have thought it was that.
In all seriousness so did I at first. I'm running other sections now to see if anything feels different.
Start of Scrapyard the front wheel doesn't seem to stick to the edge of the first metal platform as much.
Same goes for the first fence on Stormdrain.
ive been back to the single player lately, ive also switched to the reinforced wheels lately and ive also recently improved down in the dumps with those wheels.
ive since switched back to the alloys, which i use most often.. and i can notice no difference at all.
i think its just one of those weird psychological things that you get sometimes.. like when my head used to tell me white wheels made the bike feel lighter on Trials HD, which is so ridiculous ive never mentioned it before but to me, it made a difference![]()
o right, never noticed that!Originally Posted by EuphoricFusion
