Hi all,
When I was over in Finland I was lucky enough to attend the Trials Evolution Launch party. It wasn't publicised much nor spoken about that much from what i can tell, as this was really a night for these guys to let their hair (and beards) down for a bit and generally celebrate the release of the game. It's only when you get to speak to them that you realise all their hard work and frustration, late nights and stress is all to get a great game out to their fans and it was an absolute honour to hang out with them for a night and say thanks. While I may not have expressed myself all that well, I hope that they understood that while i was there, i was representing all of the fans. The fact that someone ( and Im sure heaps of us) would do just about anything to get to meet these guys and would be willing to travel half way round the world to meet them says a lot for what we think of them.
The main thing I took away from my trip was that these guys are just like you and me, they go to work, stress about deadlines, get frustrated about stuff and they take a lot of pride in their work. They put in much more work that is expected of them and it is because of the community that they really put in that extra effort. I guess my trip and this party just got me to understand that they are just like us. It was great to see them relaxing and having a good time.
I will say that I forgot to take too much footage or photos mainly because i was having a great time myself. before I go through this, I should give a special shout out to Tero, Redlynx CEO just for being an accommodating guy. I mean im just a fan visiting his office, but he made me feel very welcome and you could tell that he was just as pleased that I was there as I was. He truly made me feel like part of the team. Also a special mention to Ville. Not only did he play a huge part in putting this party together but he also beat me sooo badly at supercross I am now scared to play again.
Anyway, onto the party. I'm not going to post too much of a story, just a bunch of images and I have a video at the end also. Happy to answer any questions if I can.

It was awesome to be greeted at the door by the Trials Guy.
There was a stage set up and it looked very professional. This is Tero and Roger, Roger already has a drink and i don't think I saw him without one!

It was quite interesting as I had no idea what anyone was talking about. I spent most of the night with Lee (KatamariUK) simply because I knew i could talk English to him..
It turned out that everyone in Finland can speak some form of English so it wasn't really an issue, but the speaches, apart from Roger's was in Finnish. So I still have no idea what was said.
I should point this out, this was the greatest thing I have ever seen. I was really drunk by this point but I actually stole one of these as it was so awesome. You hold your wine while eating.
During the speeches, the Trials team were awarded this bike from Microsoft for selling 500,000 units of Trials Evo. It didn't work on the night so we didn't get to see ANBA riding it around.
It was actually the best party I have gone to because not only did I get free food (which Lee and I totally forgot to eat until it was all gone! but we got free alcohol and we got to play Trials. There were a couple of consoles set up and local supercross was played all night.
Cannibal Shogun and Ville will tell you that they beat me but they are lying. I totally beat them because my supercross skillz are mad and stuff... I tried using the excuse that I was drunk and i'm a heaps better rider, but we had a rematch at least 2-3 other times while i was sober and I lost them too!
It was so cool to see everyone wanting to watch people playing and generally having a good time
Now here are some photo's I took with the team. Can you guess who is who? I have actually forgotten some of their names so I won't try saying any of them. I feel really bad, but its so hard when they introduce themselves using their real names while I only know their names if they are written and in green!
You may not believe me but I grew a beard just for this trip. I usually have one but much shorter.. I just wanted to fit in with the locals, and as you can see, I would have looked out of place without one
It was an amazing night that I will never forget. I also got some video of the night. It's very rough but you will get to see some real life trials riding, indoors at a pary, which again I will say is the best party ever!
