I did give the included music tracks a chance tho leading me onto asking this question.
Im pretty sure that most of you have heard about the totally free racing game > Trackmania < (if u havent, check it out, u r totally missing out!!!) ... anyway when some people create their own custom tracks and release them they have included their own track of their choice (anything) which is played when peeps are racing.
I was wondering can Red Lynx do this at all? It would totally boost the popularity of TC!! (if you put a limit on the bit rate(192/128) the file size wouldnt increase to a silly level.
I know that copyrights come into this, but surley if a massive company like Ubisoft is letting this go on because there is somekind of loop whole .... can Red lynx?

Personally, I think there are for more pressing issues that need to be addressed than adding content tbh. I'd be quite happy to just see a patch and news that there will be future tracks as DLC (for MP and global lbs) and preferably some more editor objetcs included as well.

All the other window dressing is far less important for me.

I've seen people request the option of adding custom music so many times and the answer always boils down to "no". Normally due to copyrights/royalty issues. So I wouldnt hold out too much hope.

There are 2 versions the paid and the free, the only major difference with the free is that every 5th match u miss a turn and have to spectate. If i wanted i could create a track, add > the fly, buy U2 < and upload it for everybody to play, the company that made the software in Nadeo and the host of the game are Ubisoft, surely they would have been sued by now ... its been going on for at least 5+ years. Theyve obvioulsy figured a way around the copywrite and imo is one of the things thats kept the game up there with the biggens, its so customizrable ( i hope thats a word, i know i spelt i wrong, but u kno what i mean

Well RedLynx is owned by Ubisoft now, so if they've done it in one game perhaps they can do it again. Like other people have said though, There are other things I'd much rather see, instead of spending time on this music thing, spend that time on a few more tracks to add for MP and global.

If Ubisoft are allowing it to happen on a free game (trackmania) for 5yrs+ .. Do you reakon they`d let you implement it into Trials?
Do Ubisoft have a exploitatary licence for this (like the BBC) that covers any game under their name? or is it as i suspect just a cheeky work around that the users of trackmania have found?
I would so love to upload a track with music that i think would go with the theme/setting ... is it possible?
