MS's TrueSkill ranking for your clan
There was a discussion a while ago about who had the best chance of winning within our clan on a particular day. I was (and still am) tracking TOS's average ranks as you normally see on the forums after each era. I experimented with a standard deviation method to find the most consistent player but that really didn't tell us much either. Looking at the globals doesn't show the entire picture and looking at the 10 day is just for the last 10 days. How do you fill that gap?
Enter Microsoft's TrueSkill ranking. This is good for any clan up to 8 people. I am using the ajax version of the calculator which can be found here. It gives a rank from 1 to 50, with 50 being the best rank and 1 being the worst rank. It measures the probability of a particular competitor winning (and only winning) a particular match.
One huge glaring downside is you cannot customize the names. However, assigning colors to each of us worked just fine for me in the 186 days of TrueSkill I've been using (that's day 221 at the start of the Age of Wood). After a few days, you memorize the colors everyone has (for instance, I'm Mr Red, Rook is Mr Blue, NM is Mr Green, etc etc). The ajax version allows you to create a URL which I paste with whichever day's ranks I've recorded so I don't need to bookmark it, it's associated with the day the ranks are with, and we can reflect on trends.
Known issues:

[*:xct3l604] The remove player button doesn't allow you to choose which player gets removed. It always removes the bottom player. If you're asking yourself what happens if someone skips a day that isn't the last player you're tracking, I have a solution for that. The Create URL button gives everyone's stats in the URL. You can then edit the URL with only the people you need in there. You'll need to remember who was what color and in which order, but it's a passable solution until someone decides to make a TrueSkill calculator that is a bit more customizable (not me). [*:xct3l604] The ranking that you see is ONLY applicable to the people in your group. It is not comparable to anyone else. For instance, as of day 406, Rook has a TrueSkill of 27 and me, NM, and Eis have TrueSkills of 26. This will not coincide with your TrueSkills. You may have a top ten player on your clan and everyone else is below top 100. That top player will likely be a rank 40 or 50.[/*:m:xct3l604]
[*:xct3l604] As I previously mentioned, you can't edit the names.[/*:m:xct3l604][/list:u:xct3l604]
