    Re: Will Red Lynx Ouya?

I think it's No more than an Internet flash in the pan. People will make a quick buck and then it will all be forgotten in no time. Anybody remember Kony 2012? Remember how that was going to change the world? People are fickle and attention deficient. The public's reaction to things like this just irritate me to no end.

Didn't people think the same thing about the iPad? Who would use it? You can't carry it round in your pocket like a phone because it's too big and if you want a proper portable computer you'll buy a laptop instead as it has far more memory, bigger hard-drive, larger screen etc etc. But it DID sell even though no one really needs one because of clever marketing and the popularity of the millions of apps and stuff.

I haven't read anything about this product other than what you guys have written above but if it does something a little different to what's already available, has one or two exclusive games that people start raving about and is marketed well, it'll sell bucketloads.

i agree with you melchett, the ipad was another 'hole that didnt need to be filled' and even though i didnt get one for the reasons you gave (had a phone, ipod touch and laptop.. didnt need one) millions of people did because of the genius marketing from Apple.

the difference here is, these people dont even have the money to get this thing into development properly yet, its still at a fund-raising stage which is a loooong way from the stage where a company can spend millions on advertising alone like Apple can. id love to be proven wrong with this, but i just cannot see it getting anywhere near competing with the big boys in the industry.

Honestly, the Ouya is the perfect home for developers like Red Lynx. I will leave it at that...

How can you say that when it hasn't even been properly developed yet? You might want to chill out there fanboy

It is severely shortsighted to dismiss Ouya. Ed Fries, Yves Behar, Julie Uhrman and that engineer from Amazon aren't nobodies. This console is a gamers and developers wet deam. You will be eating your crow, I assure you.

how can you assure us? based on what? the videos about ouya from the people who are trying to raise money, for the ouya?
at this stage its just an idea.. an idea that people are trying to sell to everyone because the actual funds arent there. and that is a loooong way from an assured, successful product. its a good idea in theory and im all for it, but will it work in practice? nobody can be sure either way at this point.
