I think the best chance we have is for all the terrible track creators will leave. Maybe in a few months, when all the COD's, Halo's and Borderlands come out we will have less people who don't really care about the game still here. Fingers crossed.
I understand what you guys are saying about 400 downloads being more than you would have got in HD, but there's still an issue here about Track Central being abused by people re-releasing identical tracks to get them more exposure.
This underhand tactic pushes everyone else's track off the "new" list quicker, and whichever way you look at it that's not fair.
indeed its the spam that is the worst partOriginally Posted by JaminBen007
that people wanna rate stair tracks 5 stars (their might be some people who truly like them)
i can live with that but not with the spam
I take everything u said in to context and ure right, but i can help get annoyed when i see the same track with V1, 1.1 etc being released 3-4 time in the same hour ( its out of order and the creators know they are flooding TC .. some of these tracks are good, but for christ sakes, if they cant be asked to spend the time pre-testing before release, then they shouyldnt be allowed to upload a "remake" for at least 24 hours ..... it makes you wonder if their some kind of idiot or summin?Originally Posted by ARMUSARAN
Ive done it once, the first time i uploaded a track, forgot to put the times in properly but i learned after the 1st time ... they dont .. and sooner or later u go back to TC and find theve now released ver 5.1 , 6.1 etc ... it just goes on and on and on
why can the Mods or devs have a word and ask them "do they actually have a legit reason for doing this (ie their stupid) or are they just sad A***holes.
I wouldnt mind it if my track got d/l`d 400 times and got 1* because at least i`d have some knowledge the wider community prefers certain types of tracks (i dont make tracks for me, i like to put a challenge down and then try and beat the times of others). The prob here is that my track started well and started to get 4/5 star rating, then an hour later its gone (so i got 8 odd ratings(the other 392 either couldnt be arsed to rate or couldnt fin it) only be replaced by tracks that have no thought into building process or the same track 4 - 5 times, its gotta stop as its killing TC ... to many cooks spoilt the broth ....
One other thing that i find really daft is that when u actually finish a track, it will ask u to rate it, the stupid thing here being that u can choose not to rate??f you dont like the track rate it low, dont "not rate" it, totally pointless
If people were forced to actually rate a track, more accurate readings would come thru and the S**T would get pushed out a lot quicker.
My suggestions >
1 > U need to have a 24 hour feed, cant fit them in, use list instead of thumbnails.
2 > introduce sub catagorys - In new trials, introduce the beg, easy, med, hard, ext difficutlies as sub catagories, this will free up room on exisitng lists & make tracks easier to search thru.
3 > make track voting madatory, if u dont have to use it, people wont, purley out of spite if they dont like ure track(they should be made to vote as helps serperate the poop from the good
4 > make the new track listing bigger, 1 -2 hours advertised on TC after spending 3 days creating a track is a insult!!

I was going to upload all my tracks, but figure it would yield minimal return. It seems that because youtube is so saturated with video game clips, nobody views them.
Twitter is also a good outlet. Use #TrialsEvo as the hashtag.
Just use YouTube as the host, put the video on here and any other forums that may be appropriate.
It helps when people are deciding which tracks they might play, there are hundreds of threads on here advertising tracks so unless I know the creator already I'm probably not gonna download them unless I've seen a video and liked it.
1) A 24hr feed would be abused as much as "New" feeds are. People would upload the same track 100 times just because they can.Originally Posted by GreenCandy
2) People already don't edit medal times. With a different feed for all difficulties it would be nearly impossible to find a quality medium track, which would make people building mediums shove them into the wrong difficulty. It would add even more problems.
3) Mandatory voting would end up with almost every track having 3 stars. People don't want to waste time voting. They would select the default rating almost every time.
4) Promote your tracks, use your social media and hit up @RedLynxGamer with a video (even if its from a cell phone! ) and it will usually be retweeted. With the amount of users building tracks we would need far more pages than anyone would be able to scroll through. Again, these pages would be filled by the people who upload the same track 20+ times.
We are looking into Implementing some TC changes, but I can't make any promises right now.
