    Getting seriously disheartened with TC

This game is great dont get me wrong, but when u spend 3 whole days creating a track > A True Test! <, measuring the obsticles, making it look pretty, going crazy whilst testing, re -testing then fine tuning everything and then testing again ... You have to get pretty annoyed when ure track only lasts hours on TC to be replaced by loads of tracks that are getting 1 starred, or released 5 times under a different name, for it to reach that magic number of 400 and then disappear forever??

Also u then realise that another track that u released that was totally simple & takes pretty much bugger all riding skill to complete, got even more downloads than the "track u tried really hard on" ?? I dont get it? Do people want decently made tracks or any old rubbish that may be fun for 1 or 2 runs, but no a challenge ??

Its really really disheartening when things like this happen, it half makes me wonder, why bother making tracks if most of the people that own this game will never have the knowlege that my track is out there because its not left on TC for long enough.

There should be a rule about re-releasing tracks with-in a 24 hour window, TC is full of re-makes or the same track that was released before because they didnt take the time to test it properly!! maybe you could have it so that you cannot post 2 tracks from same account within a 48 hr period, after all if i had the knowledge that my track might get a proper looking i wouldnt mind waiting an extra day .. its not like im going anywhere!

Devs you gotta do something about this ... its not the 1st time ive seen this topic here and until its sorted i doubt it`ll be the last, for the time being im not going to make any more tracks either .... u either find the sweetspot to release it in or you may as well forget it ...

I hope they fix this prob by the time of the DLC ... otherwise i`ll be sticking with the vanillia ver!!

Self promotion is a must. YouTube videos are probably the most effective.

I made a track today and the response via xbl messages has been immense...more so than any other track ive released...and yet its the only one not to make the 48 hour feed. Ive had more messages about it than a track thatnis in redlynx picks that has 200k downloads lol. Thats the way of the dice sometimes...TC ratings are fickle.

I'm with ya, GreenCandy. I've been ranting about it for a few days. It's almost like you have to hit a sweet spot to get good exposure. I spent lots of time over 4 weeks creating my track, and it was pushed off the list in 2 hours.

Simple fix: allow an extended search for tracks beyond the few most recent thumbnails.

Maybe a highest rated in 72 hour feed would help..as soon as tracks leave tge 48 hr feed, then thats it..gone.into the void..

Did you guys play HD before Evo?
I'm just wondering mainly because as there was no Track Central in HD the only way you could get your tracks played was by promoting them yourself and word of mouth.
It seems we are a little spoilt with Evo and TC but it's not something I take for granted because of how things were done before.
I'm happy if people on my friends list enjoy my tracks.
If they get more downloads then it's good too but for me it's not the main thing.
I get more satisfaction from knowing that I did the best I could and getting even one good comment is enough.

That's just it isn't it. I feel the same way. And somehow I get this weird vibe of people that claim their track isn't getting enough or the right attention. If you have to state something like this there's always the chance you're wrong and your track got all the attention it deserved for whatever reason unknown to you. I know I am trying and rating your tracks!

This x22020489203838292. I got bummed at first at the major failure of my latest track but then I realized 400+ dl's is more than I ever would've got back in HD days. I've switched my mindset so that I just build tracks for me. If they do good and get a **** ton of dl's, that's great. If not, it isn't the end of the world. I build for fun/as a hobby and that's all that matters.

That is true. I told my buddy I had more fun building the track than playing it. It was definitely rewarding to start from scratch and see all the events and physics begin to work! Fun Stuff... Thanks, Redlynx!

The editor is a game in itself...i just enjoy it for what it is...a game its definitely frustrating when your lovingly crafted track is outvoted by the floating ninja staircase...im sure everyone can empathise there...but thats just the way TC is...get used to it or stop using it.
