ok track central is kinda annoying with people releasing the same track over and over
so who else thinks redlynx should do something about that

I've shared my opinion already in the post "The Get Tracks Section." It certainly needs re-vamping, but I'm not sure limiting will help. We simply need to be able to search beyond the most recent tracks.
Tracks get lost in obscurity within hours, getting improper exposure time. It's pretty frustrating to spend weeks on a map, just to have it get missed by most of the community.

i chose something else:
users should not be able to release more than one track per 48hr period (ties in with 48hr feed), ALSO should not be able to use same name or at least must have a different description -- imo
have a look at maniacben987 -- he has over 100 releases in the last 3 weeks, yet only 4 or 5 distinct tracks...pah
Yeah, see, that sort of thing bothers me the most. I don't like to download from any creator that does that, even if they are a good creator. I hate having to sort through all of the versions of the same track in order to find the most recent.Originally Posted by morrillo
If we really have to keep all the versions around, at least give us a way to hide the old ones. Something like the "featured" gallery on deviantArt.com where you can chose to display all of your best/favorite/most recent/whatever artwork in one folder, and then you can still look at a list of all of the unfeatured stuff as well. Basically, we could display the best versions of our tracks while moving the rest off to the side.

It's fine as it is except I'd like to have the ability to recall a track within 48hrs of uploading in order to make any corrections that may be necessary.
Alternatively the option to upload to a beta section which stays there for maybe 48hrs and players are encouraged to give feedback.
Of course, if people tested their tracks properly in the first place this wouldn't be a problem

However, many of the repeated tracks are not because they have been fixed, but simply a lame way of flooding TC with the exact same track

very true - you can't polish a turd
but I imagine some people simply like to see their gamertag all over TC...
How about you let this new private TC include only one track per gamertag. Leaderboards could be kept upon unsharing and the person can change his shared track at anytime to one on his hard drive (this would mean people could share other peoples tracks as well (some of these builders would be well pleased seeing others share their tracks as extra prom) but if it one shared before it can not score on the highest rated section. I'd like to see how long it would take for it to end up like the Red lynx picks which can only be changed by an act of god.
