I'm giving an idea away FOR FREE because building it has been a pure pain in my ***!
If someone can do it....and get it to work let me know!
The idea is a log flume track!
I dug out the ground filled it with water and tried riding it,
It just doesn't play well! AT ALL!
So if you can do it and get it to play clean drop me a line and I'll be amazed!
Logging off
Tell me what the problem is and i'll tell you how to fix it. There is always a way.
The log. Doesn't ride down the water it tumbles over itself, it also seems to react to the different waters rather than it being one piece!
To be honest its been a nightmare!
Sure it can be done and would look superb, but the frustration off building it is more stressful than my job and I'm a bomb defuser for the police
Haha. Been there my friend. Think I'll pass on that one. I was trying to make a rock collapse and land in a lake of lava, then you'd have to ride across it. I was getting loads of crazy results. Sometimes the rock would sink, sometimes it would bounce too much and throw the rider off of it. I tried using physics joints, custom collisions, linear damping, angular damping, increasing the mass of the rock, using an OPE...Nothing gave the desired affect.
I tried to get it work for a week. In the end it just wasn't worth it. Good luck to whoever takes this on.
This was pretty much me by the end (As long as you imagine the computer is an Xbox/My TV)
How bout this track idea, you start off and in the distance you can see NASA launching pad(tower) w/ the Saturn V rocket getting ready to blast-off(w/ the big countdown clock ticking away) and you have to make your way up to the top of the tower and strap yourself in before lift-off.I know it sounds cool to me and i'm sure there are some top designers that could pull it off or maybe its to crazy of a idea.I would still like to see and ride it......3......2....1 BUILD (please) Also a big thank-you to all of you track/skills game designers for giving us riders fun tracks/games to ride/play.This is for everyone if you play dont forget to rate.
Well here is how I'd fix your problem- have the rock fall in normallyOriginally Posted by James24993assume it was only problematic once the rider was on the rock), ope custom collisions to the rock & then activate ope for both the rock & the collisions once the rider is on-board, then with variable data source change the rock to no contact response, use curve data sources in combination with the OPE to make a bouyancy effect, and also glue waterfall effects in a circular motion around the rock since It is being OPE'd there will not be a splash effect. Actually you wont even need the custom collisions or the variable data source to change the physics type.
Just activate ope once the rider is on board (With the makeshift bouyancy & splashing effects) and all should be fine?
Unfortunately when you use an OPE it doesn't exert forces on other objects. That means it would just slide under the bike rather than carrying it with it. Good idea though.Originally Posted by apdenton1![]()
Area effector, 0% fade, force value 1 or 2?
Also if you turn the physics on of the OPE'd object then it does exert force, if you still run into problems then use the area effector.
