The get tracks section is great, but it'd be nice to extend the view of uploaded tracks. Perhaps add a list view to see all uploaded tracks by date/creator/etc...
I only bring this up, because it seems so many good tracks are getting lost in obscurity. Case in point: I finished a good map... it had 400 downloads, and then the downloads just stopped. My first upload brought in 1400 downloads in the first 12 hours, and it's pretty much been stuck there for the last week or so.
Thanks for the great game, though! The editor is amazing and the tracks I've been seeing from people are extremely fun and creative. Keep up the good work!
Also, that 400 cutoff happened within two hours. There are just so many tracks being created that it's almost like you have to find the "sweetspot" time for uploading and getting good ratings. Frustrating if you've spent 2 to 4 weeks creating a killer map, only to have it fall by the wayside of circumstance.
Peace!
I had a track get buried from the new section of track central in thirty minutes. Needless to say, I didn't find that perfect time to upload.![]()
Try adding people who will play and rate your tracks to your friend list. This way you are more likely to get realistic votes (unless your track is not very good of course). sometimes tracks can miss the 48 hour feed just because a few people rate your track down if they find it hard. This happens a lot...but you can counter it by having people rate it who have a bit of patience and will have a few goes to try and learn the line.
You can add me if you like...gt in sig. Im not sure there is an optimum time to release tracks...the weekends TC gets flooded but weekdays less people are on so its a chicken and egg scenario. If your tracks are good they will get noticed if you just keep building and releasing them.
Good luck.
Thanks for the reply! I've thought about adding friends to do what you suggested. Aren't you only able to have around 250 friends, though? That being said, usually the highest rated section cuts off around 400 ratings at the lowest track level.
Oh well, I have plans for other maps, like you said.
Cheers.

If you stick at it, eventually all the stair track and "pirate" track makers will leave, hopefully leaving us with fewer bad tracks and more good tracks.
You might be right, but it'd sure be nice to be able to see more of the recent uploads. Kind of like when you switch to list view when looking at tracks that you've downloaded.
Nothing annoys me more than seeing my track disappear due to a stair track upload, or a track made on the baseball field that has two ramps and a ring of fire. Also, any track that solely is just a hill climb up the side of a mountain with no apparent driving line.Originally Posted by LukeMSki![]()
Well I'm glad I'm not alone, then. That makes it better... lol.
