Sorry to be so negative, but Evo is an awesome game and MP is just a gigantic fail, tainting an otherwise near perfect game.
Where do I start? Matchmaking seems very random. I can sit for minutes sometimes without getting a game. My connection has not changed in the last few weeks. I have open NAT. But for a few days straight, it would only match me up vs fellow forumer and friend AkaM (GT Akamoid). We played during prime hours, and for more than a handfull games straight, we would get no other opponents.
Sometimes we would get a third player, but it would often be CELESTEFANTOMAS, and seeing two players he knew he wouldn't beat on a normal day, he quit. This leads me to my second complaint, namely the rankings that are just such a big joke I keep checking if it's April 1st on the calendar.
CHRISQUIGLISSES, the current #1 in the world, has NEVER, repeat never, finished a game vs me. If he sees me in the lobby, he instaquits. Other forumers have said exactly the same. I'm gonna name and shame the guys in top10 who regularly ***** out of games in this fashion. Chaos Brother (#6), CELESTEFANTOMAS (#9) and COBRA2663 (#2) do this all the time.
Is that really the type of ranking system we want? Where pieces of **** like this, who are absolutely nowhere near the best, top the leaderboards? Just because they have the most games played? Who came up with this ranking system, and who okay'ed it, and what had they been smoking, and had they mixed smoking with alcohol or pills, or both?
Another complaint that seems fairly trivial compared to the above, is that sometimes when I pick a certain game mode, it gives me another one instead. Lately this has been happening a bit too much.
But the ranking system remains my biggest gripe. There's just no way anyone can think this is a good and fair ranking system. The majority of top10 players are no more than a bit above average in skill, yet for massing games, and quitting out on better opponents, they've made it to where they are. That's just not right.
I have not actually been part of the rankings but just want to say i like the system. A lot of games nowadays reward sheer playing time. Just playing a lot can get you up there with people that have undeniable skills. The counting a quited game as a loss routine may seems like a great solution to a lot of the problems but as long as connection issues exist would prove to actually exclude more than benefit good players. The fact that we have this forum where you can actually oust people for misbehaving within the created community shows how well the leaderboards work. We are the leaderboards, you, that guy you've beaten (you know his gamertag) and the others on here and the people they talk to. You know how good you are, let that be enough, enjoy your good comments and take the leaderboards as extras. Wow, I am rantin' like crazy today... peace out.
yeah kno the feeling bunch of guys on page 1 instaquit against me...really anoying i never do that crap, if i get beat so what....try again.
I've barely touched multiplayer and what I've experienced didn't really leave me wanting to go back.
Tearing, rankings, quitters and wait times put me off.
My only experience of MP with forum people.
Oski invites me to a game and Party.
I join the Party as the game lobby is full ( I thought )
It's myself, Oski, Norfair, 1 guy I can't remember and JJtG![]()
I think...*** this I'm gonna get creamed
I stick around while we all mumble uncomfortably
Oski forgets about us and seems to be having dinner with his mum
I leave

fully agree norf. the idea of racing against others live is great and the gameplay is fun.. but the format and execution of mp has really failed in this game;
wrong gametypes, wrong bikes, long lobby times, people quitting gives no points to anyone (MASSIVE fail), absolutely worthless leaderboards, time over faults in hc trials
...and a bunch of other small complaints.
they should punish quitters by deducting xp and deranking, and just completely remove the mp leaderboards.. i think thats the only 'fix'.
I just play private matches with friends (occasionally) ,and that does me.![]()

I agree completely. The matchmaking could be great, but it has so much problems, I don't even bother playing it anymore. Once I find someone, I know that I will get matched up with that same person until they quit, or I quit. That flaw alone has ruined my multiplayer experience.Originally Posted by WILLYUMZ
Don't get me started on the indescribable amount of brokenivity with the leaderboards.
Multiplayer is so screwed up in so many games today, ever since somebody decided it was a good idea to reward playtime over skill, and all the other game company's agreed, multiplayer was ruined. Just because kids get upset when they lose a rank because they lost a game, we have to have leader boards and ranks based on playtime/games played over skill, all it does is create problems like this.
