I see what you mean. I watched the replay. I get your point at the jump over the truck. I think that's because I wanted to include the piranha and I couldn't get over the truck if I changed the trucks position. Might be a bad decision. But if you just take the ramp with good timing you'll be able to ride across the planks(fault2).Originally Posted by Barrybarfly
If you made the jump over the log where there is traffic underneath correctly you only have to get over that big rock and via that one you can jump over the 2 rocks smoothly. At least that's what I intended. But you probably mean they are in the way or something??
I was doubting about that almost extreme obstacle cause I first had it lowered; so it was much easier to get over it, but then I saw similar obstacles on the Hard section of the single player game. So I kept it in there. The funny thing is that that obstacle is much easier with the scorpion or the piranha. I could also pass it with the rattler, so that's why I thought it couldn't be an extreme-like obstacle.
If you get up there after that obstacle, you don't even have to jump to make it. Just stay paralell to the ground. That jump is much harder with the Piranha.
Thanks for the feedback. It's good to know where I should put my focus on next time.
edit: btw, the area condition effect is almost unnoticable. I needed it so the sun was always behind the camera for the small shadow effect on the wall of the mountain and the sunlight, otherwise I had to use lights for that last part of the track, since it was curved it wasn't lit by sunlight.
It is certainly tough to get a balance between driving line and aesthetics/detail...
Both of these tracks are good (my favourite being Overgrown), so I am looking forward to your next one!
Barry talks a lot of sense, his driving line ability and your decor ability would produce some great tracks
Keep building...
Good to see you take it on the chin and explain your thinking behind your decisions! Tbh, with a Hard track I wouldnt even worry about the piranha or rattler. It really doesnt matter if they can complete the track or not imo. far better to concentrate on getting line you really like with at least one of the other two bikes (and preferably the donkey too).Originally Posted by Rishaan
On second thoughts, I think you are probably right about the "extreme" obstacle, it probably is ok. Its really not that hard to get past, so I think I was wrong on that. The rocks I had issue with because they just give you a fault if your landing isnt perfect due to the gap between them (the two at ground level).
Like I say, its all down to the individual. It may simply be that I didnt make enough runs to learn the obstacles well enough, or that my riding style doesnt fit with the track very well. Some of the things I mentioned arent particularly bad, just things to bear in mind.
I've played many, many far worse tracks! I just think if you forget about the two crap bikes for future hard tracks you will make your life easier and end up with a better line. But thats just my opinion.
This is still a good track, people should give it a go. It deserves its place in the 48hr feed imo.
agree! Many hard tracks work only on Phoenix, and certainly not on more than top 2 bikes.Originally Posted by Barrybarfly
Also, this is a good track and deffo deserves 48 hr feedwell done
Just finished a track. It's a pretty easy extreme I think. The theme is pretty standard, just what the name implies. You begin underground, with a jump above ground then straight down again. After that you have a little dark area that is being lit by a light that follows you. I tried to concentrate on a smooth driving line, and I think I managed that. I think.. There are some timesavers in there so let me know what you think. Unfortunately no alternate endings for platinum.
No vids or pics.. Not able to. And a picture with my phone is just horrible.
Platinum time is 45s.

I enjoyed this track although I did find it REALLY tough to do! lol I manage dit in 71 faults and would knock a bunch off on another run now I know where I'm going! But I think its a really good track. There was only one problem that stood out on my one run and that was where two of the effects cards are still visible. I dont know what causes this, but its such a shame that its happened on this track.![]()
Still, thats a tiny little detail. I like a lot of the other little details like the blurring in some of the steam, the end scene, th evibrating pipes, etc. And the line seems really good ot me personally so I'll be going back to it at some point.
Hey Rishaan, just finished a run on your new track and I liked it!
Excellent theme and visuals, but some work needed to get a good run (for me anyway!).
Well done![]()
Thanks for the comments. Yeah, I noticed that in the editor too. It happened when you fault there and then I put in 2 extra steam effects to appear before you get launched in the air. I thought it was just an editor issue and would be gone if I uploaded it, but it didn't.Originally Posted by Barrybarfly
And on the little details. I just noticed that I forgot to turn off the light in the dark area after it's get light again.
edit: just checked it in the editor and I put in all the events and such but I forgot to link it to the trigger..
Thanks. I mentioned earlier that I thought it was an easy extreme, but actually it isn't for me either. It's just that I played it so much that I think it's an easy one.Originally Posted by morrillo

I was wondering if I'd put the platinum time too difficult. My fastest time was around 37s with 5 faults. And there are only 4 people now that have under 45s.
