Cheers guys, this is Tough Guy number 3 for me. I've done 2009, 2010 and now 2013.

hey melchett. do you do tough mudder aswell?

I know of it but no, I haven't done that one yet. There are a couple of muddy cross-country races close to Swindon where I live that I usually do such as The Terminator and I did one of the Spartan races last year but otherwise I do road racing - usually half marathons but the odd marathon too like Rome Marathon last year.

im focusing on fitness this year but I dont like getting muddy

That's the best bit, when you're finally finished and you're absolutely plastered in mud!

Hi Melch, I know of this mad event. Im sure the farm will be looking daunting and the snow is on the way, just to make it a little bit more of a man test!! Enjoy.

Thanks k2, I hope it's cold and snowy too, if it's an "easy" race weather-wise I'll only get a load of sh!t from my fellow running mates along the lines of "Yeah, well it's usually tough but only because of the cold, even my gran could have finished it this year." or some other equally mocking quips. The winter Tough Guy has 3,000 competitors and 20% of them regularly can't finish it and 20% generally get hypothermia to one degree or another. Was hoping to get into the top 250 after finishing 352/5000 in the 2011 Summer Tough Guy (called Nettle Warrior because large parts of the course are shoulder high in stinging nettles at the start). Damaged my ankle ligaments in October though and it's still not 100% so think a fast race may be beyond me this year.

tough guy seems very similar to tough mudder. i did it last year and going to do it again this year. the electric cables are the worst!! we also had to jump in an ice pool.

When I'm not racing on Trials Evo I do this sort of thing.

Just signed up for my 3rd Tough Guy race. Roll on January 27th 2013, can't wait!!!
