Hey builders! Was just wondering if you hit a brick wall with ideas and driving lines from time to time and what you do to get that building buzz back?
Lately ive just not been getting that flow going...whenever i open the editor i go blank lol. Ive been hitting the career tracks to take a break and also finishing off some other games...maybe my inspiration will flow again some day and maybe not.
I just wondered if anyone has felt the same?
I feel your pain![]()
I usually just play random tracks in single player or in the highest rated section until I find an obstical that inspires me.
Right now I'm drawing blanks. I have started maybe 10 different tracks and deleted all of them. I can't think of a setting or where to place my track. Hopefully something will inspire me soon.
I get blocked all the time. Normally I just suddenly get an idea for a theme or obsatacle, get started and hope that I can maintain the momentum. If not, I quit and wait for another idea and start again! lol
lol really? You must have the record for most tracks released!Originally Posted by Barrybarfly
I've got the opposite problem, I have ideas for a ****load of tracks, but lack either the time or technical ability to pull them off.
In fairness I have maybe 10-12 "good ones", most of the rest are simply average and were used as a very steep learnig curve for me as I never made tracks in HD and had a LOT to learn! lol Also, I have a lot of spare time, so a track a week for me still means 30+ hours put into a track. Which means I have a good 10 hours I can waste being stuck! LMAOOriginally Posted by JaminBen007![]()
Happens to me every single time I release a track and think of what I am going to do next.
I usually start a bunch of different tracks. If they don't immediately look good then I delete them. Eventually I get one that does look good and I stick with it.
When has that happened?Originally Posted by buttcheekofdeth![]()

Not that I've made many tracks, but the latest one I've been working on started as pure driveline. I started everything up in the sky and just built the driveline with ramps. Once I saw how the driveline looked I tried to think of what kind of environment would have those patterns in a semi natural way. Finally figured out a setting for it and went to work decorating. This is the first time I've ever had a decoration/theme that I really love, so I might try this method again for future tracks.
On all 6 of my tracks! Now if only it had happened on at least one of your 50 tracksOriginally Posted by Barrybarfly![]()
