If the Author cant b bothered then y should I(custom tracks)

Im Frustrated ... i downloaded a custom track (i wont name as i dont want to cause trouble) by a member of this group that kindly accepted my friends request.

I spent approx 10 mins on it before giving up, only to find that the original creator had taken 76 attempts to complete thier own track and i thought what the point creating a track that you cant even complete flawlessly yourself????

I thought these track were "vetted" before they were allowed to be downloaded by the public?

Also, how do people gauge the level of difficulty b4 they upload? some of the tracks that are labeled hard, imo should be labeled extreme (and according to a few of my mates .... impossible), maybe red lynx could add a section for people to rate the difficulty of the track themselves.

If someone can finish the track then it's uploaded. Your run doesn't have to be perfect.

true but u would expect the fault level by the creator to be less than 76 (their best run)

If it's a seriously heavy track then a large fault count doesn't bother me. If someone's uploaded anything Easy-Extreme and their fault count is high then it indicates one of 2 things...

    1) They want other players to put down good runs/find the timesavers before they make a good run themselves.

    2) They are a lesser skilled player who should've spent more time learning to play before attempting to make tracks. Sorry if that sounds elitist but it's been painful these last few months.

I totally get what ure saying in regards to the 2nd point but disagree with the fault count comment,
you should give a toss about the amount of faults you do, the game itself pushes you towards becoming a better rider and to complete the tracks flawlessly ( platinum medals!! ) Why have a medal system if its just about having the ability to complete the track?

The thing that got me is that on Inferno 3 u can make up to 40 faults to get gold, this person has set the bar himself at 76 which doesnt give much hope to other users downloading the track, i just find it daft, if you made the track then u should be bloody good at it .... not just medicore

There are lots of excellent tracks that the creators can't zero fault, these tracks are not made for 99% of Trials players, they are made because the top 1% arent challenged by most tracks. why do you have an issue with this? you're on the forums so I assume you know most of the top players names, before downloading a track spend 5 seconds looking at the leaderboard, if Amplitude, Murdoc Loch and ChicargoAJ have completed the track with 10 faults each and are at the top then probably don't bother playing that track untill you get a bit better.

Here are a couple of examples of tracks that are very good but as far as I know have still not been 0 faulted by their creators (who are very skilled).

Cough and Cringe - Murdoc Loch
    Just Give up - jook13

Cheer up, it could be worse, this is a beautiful world with raindrops on kittens tied up with string (or something like that)
