Flatliner events are making me go crazy. I am not the kind of person to rage quit on video games or even get worked up. But this game really gets to me. I am having so much trouble with the extreme tracks. I can never get consistent results. Watching the top rider replays makes it even worse. My wife asked me tonight "why do you play that game if it makes you so angry?" I didn't really have an answer. It's really rewarding when you finally beat something you have been practicing for hours/days. I practice and practice bit I don't seem to be getting much better. Euphoric's tutorial has helped alot but I'm sad to admit I rage quit that too. Any tips on how to cool down when trials has you by the throat?

I wish that was an option...
Stop playing or play something else. Or try to go on to a different/easier track to improve that one. Skill games, customs, and multiplayer are options as well.
And water, drink some water. Maybe put on some beatles music or something. Whatever type of music relaxes you, just put it on while playing. That works for me anyway.
Once you get through the extremes go back to easy or beginner and work your way back thru, that's where you'll see how much you've improved.
+1 on putting your preferred taste in music on
Thats your problem right there. Youre only intimidating yourself by believing you can mimic a top replay. Find someone on your skill level and work your way up. The sooner you accept the fact that you suck, the sooner you get better.Originally Posted by BACKoffTURKEY
+1 to both of these.Originally Posted by ender3
I improved greatly after progressing through the game several times over. Complete the extremes then go back and try to platinum a few beginner/easy/med tracks. If you can't platinum any more, then just try to improve your times on everything from beginner to the end of Hard for a while. If you get frustrated, simply move on and play something easy again.
It might sound funny, but after playing Beginner and Easy tracks attempting to improve all my times, I suddenly halved my faults on everything in Extreme afterward. And of course by doing so I also beat all my times in the process.
Stop fretting so much over Extremes. They're only a small fraction of the overall game. In order to paint the whole picture, you'll need to repaint in other sections for a while.
Not to mention walking away. There's a good chance you're physically and mentally fatiguing yourself by pressing through your frustrations. Walk away and come back, I can guarantee that you will play better or at least fail more gracefully.
I think ender said it spot..go back n start again..so suprising how much you ve improved by going through all the tracks.even making mistakes or bad habits iron out,and without realising it too...
All i can say mate is if your blood starts to boil, then go an wash your hands n face, and take 5 mins to chill..make a brew,or use the toilet..this is how i revitelise myself..(facewash in cold water..youll be suprised)....
Play Dark Souls or Super Meat Boy. Then you'll know true rage.
I don't want to criticise but I have a mate the same as you. You're not a child so try exercising some self-control, take a deep breath and remember its only a game. Stop setting yourself ridiculous targets like 0 faulting Way of the Ninja, play for fun, go to TC and check out some customs, or better yet, turn the thing off once in a while. If something as insignificant as a game is coming between your relationship then its time to get shot of one or the other.
