Thank you, I have been browsing that exact forum and couldn't find what I needed, I may try and formulate a question but this is definitely not something I can get from the tutorials.'ve watched the official ones, they helped in the beginning) I am just going to see if I can befriend some dudes on live, it's too bad most of them have full friendlists though... Thanks again for the help though.
Hey Arm. I saw that you were trying to toggle the visibility on the bike and/or rider during a ride on your track. For whatever reason, the regular visibility event will not tie into the bike and rider so try this instead (this works for the bike or the rider or both, just repeat the process for whichever you want invisible/visible).
-- Access the 'data source' menu from the editor tool-bar.
-- Select a 'variable data source' and place it in a convenient location close to the bike/rider.
-- Access the 'events' menu from the editor tool-bar.
-- Select a 'set value event' and place two of them next to your 'variable data source'.
-- Click on a 'set value event' and press up on the d-pad to access its properties menu.
-- From the properties menu, select the 'select event targets' and then click on the 'variable data' source. (A blue arrow should now be linking them)
-- Link your other 'set value event' to the same 'variable data source' using the same procedure.
-- Access the properties menu of a single 'set value event' and set it up so that it reads 'set value' and then adjust the number to read (1).
-- On your other 'set value event' do the same thing except adjust the number to read (0).

================================================== ================================================== ==========
-- Click on your bike or rider.
-- Press 'up' on the d-pad to access its properties menu.
-- Highlight the 'visibility' check-box and press 'Y'.
-- Now click on your 'variable data source'. The visibility check-box should be replaced by a yellow flag with a 'D' in it.
-- Your bike or rider's visibility is now tied to the state of your 'variable data source'.
-- If the 'variable data source' is set to (1) your bike or rider will be visible. If the 'variable data source' is set to (0) your bike or rider will be invisible.

-- At this point all you have to do is figure out where in your track you want the respective events to happen.
-- If you want the bike or rider invisible at a certain location place an 'area trigger' at that location, access the trigger's properties menu, select 'on hit' then click on the 'set value event' that you have set to (0) to send the impulse there.
-- When you want the bike or rider visible again, repeat the process except set this new trigger's 'on hit' impulse to the 'set value event' that you have set to (1).
-- If you want the bike or rider to be visible/invisible at the very beginning of the track just make sure you manually set the value in its respective 'variable data source' to (1-visible) or (0-invisible) to start with.

Now that didn't just solve that pesky invisibility problem I was having but also just shortened a lot of other chains I was using. Thank you Grimm, I had read about the wole on/off and 0/1 fact but never applied it this way. This pretty much opened up a whole lot of options... I just made a track where my rider goes through a shack and while he's out of sight for only half a sec he comes out flying a rocket instead of on his bike. I cracked the biggest smile. Thanks again. I am now making a section where you fly of your bike only to have it look like your skiddin' on your bum across the finish. I love this stuff, this editor rules.
Why haven't I seen this in any games yet? I was just fooling around with the visibility of the bike and rider tied to seperate buttons and it opened up quite a puzzle factor... it's now possible for me to 'duck' and 'jump' a bit. Cool stuff dude. I am now playing with the freeze effect and the whole momentum which is awesome. Portal game here you come...
If you're interested in seeing a diverse bit of editor work try taking a peek at the following games (in no particular order):
Ricky Reb: Barrel Apocalypse 2
BlueMageFTW: Mayan Mayhem and Lynx Quest
nannerdw: Lynx Ball
katamariUK: Gravity 2.0
Jorm4: Russian Block Game
jook13: Lil' Trials Planet
BORG 1 OF 1: Waaagh!
Loot Monkey: Memory Match (shameless plug)

OP, give the forum a chance, def alot of help people out there and a ton of useful threads in the level editor section! Welcome! If you would like track making tips, you can even check out the thread in my signature below. Its from Trials HD, but still alot of the tips apply for evo! We all had to start out knowing nothing with the editor, but with time and feedback we grow as builders. Just takes tender love and care and experience!
My apoligies if anybody is offended my little rant, it was certainly not meant that way, it was the general problem with forums that got to me. If you come in late it can be very annoying to find what your looking for between all the 'where are you from' and 'what is your town famous for' bits. I guess I am just spoiled and because of tips from other users I expected a nice and tight forum for builders only. I am more than grateful to Grimm for his (perfectly typed out) help and Shifty Samurai actually showed me the tone of people on here doesn't have to be either that o f an egotistical self worshipper or mister popular, it's just a case of these loudmouths taking the spotlight. Again I'd like to apoligise to everyone offended but know that it was just my own dissapointment, I find it quite easy to explain what I know, I might make a few 'tutorials' myself and I am definitely buying a capture card. Keep on building and riding hard everyone!!!
