Re: Possible reason to the "floatyness" of the game

I suspect it's not the refresh rate so much as the response time.
Newer TVs have all sorts of pre-processing going on, that introduce a delay between the TV receiving a video signal and actually displaying it. Hence they also have a 'game mode', which turns all this stuff off and just gets the image to the screen ASAP. If your CRT has similar image pre-processing going on, there will be a delay between what you're inputting in the controller & what's going on in the physics engine, and what you're actually seeing. That could potentially be described as 'floatyness'...
Also don't be afraid to try your XBOX on your mate's TV and vice-versa.

Ahh is that what the "Game" setting does? I thought it just optimised the sound and colours etc for videogames.

Well, you learn something every day

do you have issues with other games, or just Trials Evo?
its the standard plug but to a CRT TV not a monitor, the blurriness is expected due to the technology of the tv, but the lagg isnt

I find that bike sometimes feels floaty when I need to reset my router after a marathon battlefield session. Go on trials after playing it and it feels off, reset my router an all is golden.

I can see how this could make a difference

Do you get this on single player too?

Yup, only ever play single player. Go on to try a few new times but just isn't playable. Load FIFA up to check and it shows moderate NAT. So I just put it down to ****ty connection and just reset my router.

none of this thread makes sense to me, man.

i swear it's all just psychosematic. none of the above can affect how floaty the game is, surely?!

I know that on MP Evo takes quite a lot of bandwith compared to games like COD ( used DU meter to test )
and i put it down to all the "Ghosts" of the other players being displayed in "real time".

I assume, that if you have a lot of friends that ure racing against on single player, that the "real time" update of thier ghosts could also take a lot of bandwidth and if you have a "moderate" connection, might cause a slight buffer on the gameplay speed? Is that possible, anyone know?
