how to: get your *** on the backwheel and climb that hill!

ok. most things i figure(d) out by myself. but when it comes to this damned thing my brain just stops to work.
you know, when theres a steep hill and the riders in the replays just hop on the backwheel, and climb up there...backwards.
    it's like magic...without a wand. :/
i just can't figure it out, any help here would be most appreciated!

If you mean going up hills in reverse with a wheelie, then good luck to you. Best bet is to practice practice practice.

Honestly, Shifty gave you the best and most appropriate advice. It kind of sucks, I know, but there is no secret to the technique. I can tell you what works for me, and that is feathering the L trigger as I climb the hill. If Johnny (which is the name of my rider, btw) seems like he's falling backward too far, I let off the L trigger a bit. If the bike begins to lean forward too far, I increase pressure on the trigger. No magic potion, just...practice.

I recommend u practice this on editor. Make ramp and adjust it so you just cant reverse it whit out wheelie.
Lean forward and then back just to lift your front tire one o clock. lean back and hit X button. I personally use x button i think its way easier than LT.
Practice like that. Its take time but i bet you do easier wheelies at no time
When u mastered that add little backward bunny hop and have fun

I built a track to teach me this. It's preaty average but worked for me.
Just search my gt and you'll find it.
And like they all said practice and practice more.

I was totally amazed by this move when I first saw it in a replay. Then I tried the track and racked up over 100 faults on just that obstacle, but here's the thing, once I understood it, it was fairly easy. Unlike other techniques that are difficult all the time no matter what, this one just requires enough practice to get that magic "click."

As for how I do it specifically, I lean all the way back as I hold LT, and when my rider (who I have named Frank, short for Frankenstein, because his parts have been replaced so many times) is just about to touch the ground with his buttocks, I lean forward, but not for too long, just enough so that I can lean back again and have some clearance for the buttocks. I repeat this 'til 'm at the top. Easy Peasy!

There is a track called 'Impossible ???' where you must use this technique for over 30+ seconds straight. I'm now pretty good at it after clearing this track, I recommend checking it out and watching the replays. Most people have their rider lean forward but I find it easier if they're leaning back.

Try balancing and going backwards on flat ground first, when you get used to that and can balance on the back wheel easily or at least consistently, move on to going uphill.
