Just curious why were restricted to two people for multiplayer? My first thought was to avoid people boosting scores but is that the real reason? I play with friends and its usually 3 or 4 total, just wondering.

yep, sebbbi said if you had 3 or more players colluding then you'd always get the track you wanted as well, meaning a random joining would have basically no say. so it's limited to 2.
so, boosting, and controlling the vote.
