Not A Noob, But is it only me thats having these 3 problems?
Im not a noob but im not expert either ... (ive completed all but the last 3 of the flatliner events)
However coming from Trials HD there are a number of things that are getting on my t*ts and im starting to think "why did i buy this game", the only real improvments are the world wide leaderboards and the fact u can actually share youre tracks with anyone ( at last )
<1> this happens on the Scorpion and the Phoenix - When i am climbing a steep hill and i obviously have to tap forward to stick to the slope, i find that i can perform an "endo" which means the back wheel lifts and i roll back to the bottom n most of the time crash, this strikes me a strange as i didnt think that it was possible to do this whilst sitting/standing on a heavy piece of metal, let alone whilst at a 85 degree angle??
<2> whenever riding the phoenix, if i hit a bumpy section, it feel like that the rider has got a lump off jelly stuck up his A**E because i find myself not actually going forward, but frustratinly trying to control the bike so it stops acting like a horse
<3> does the brake actually work in this game and if so is it the front or back brake that kicks in, i ask this because in Trials HD i could fly thru the air, hold brake, land on my back wheel and it would stop, in Evo i find that i will generally land and find myself in the "problem 2" point, bouncing around like a lost chicken.
To me it seems like that the dev`s have changed the gravity "feel" from Trials HD, Evo feels like im in space sometimes, the game is way way too bouncy!!!!!
Is it just me or is anyone else getting pi**ed off with this, i thought the whole point of an sequal is to improve it, not to make it more annoying.

Re: Not A Noob, But is it only me thats having these 3 probl
I understand what you're talking about, but all of these problems
can be overcome by making slight adjustments to your technique.
There are times to lean forward and times to not lean forward, and
just because you're on a slope doesn't mean leaning forward is
automatically a good idea.
As far as the brake goes, I think it's a major improvement over
THD. It's much more responsive, and as a result much more
difficult to control but more effective once you get that control
down.
But some of this boils down to opinions.

There's a front brake, rear brake, and engine brake.

Re: Not A Noob, But is it only me thats having these 3 probl
well cheers for the answer ThunderDuck, but im still finding it a total pain in the arse as there are some points where u have to push forward otherwise u`d do a wheele and if u dont accelarate enough, ure not getting over the obsticle.
I find this game great until i get to the flatliner group, some of the tracks are impossible to me and there is bugger all point at looking at the replays because surprise surprise ... there completed so quick by the top riders that u cant figure out what the hell to do rendering it absolutley """"""USELESS"""""" for people just trying to get a bronze and get to the end.
Im finding this with a lot of sequels, COD, Battlefield and now this game where the dev`s make the game so friggin hard, that for a majority of people, they cannot complete the game?? Great fun eh?
Why did RedLynx do this, i mean the whole point of the leaderboards is to prove to other people that u can do the track faster than them, so there is no-need to make impossible tracks. Its a shame i cant rate these tracks like the custom made ones, maybe the devs would realise that for the 100,000 people that downloaded it on the 1st day of release, that only 70% of peeps have actually completed all of the tracks.
Is there any guides for people that are not androids??

I'm starting work on a full riding tutorial with tips and breakdowns of each technique.
Hold in there. I was shocking at HD when it was released, but time and practice are the key to success.

Remember the flatliner events where a bonus for completing the game and are ment to be much harder.
Me personally I felt a bit ripped off when I made all the extremes first go and I thought that my 5 min 98 fault on inferno 3 was a joke. I thought way too easy I should be timing out on a few of these. but it came down to I had actually gotten better at the game. When I went back to hd I did inferno 2 with 1 mistake first up I was shocked I could improve a track I hadn't played for about 4 months when it took me over 4 hours to do the first time. That was four hours straight of just timing out.
With the inclines some are better to lean back some forward and some you gotta adjust. I'm sorry to say that practice is the way to go.
As for replays when I was learning hd ( I was a late starter on that got it about 3 weeks enforce the last dlc) I refused to watch the top guys replays because that stuff was beyond me and I knew it. I went for position 4999 the last replay. This gave me a realistic style to go for. Now with this game I could be wrong but I think replays go to 9999 so I'd be starting there. On extremes there is probably runs with faults in the replays still which can help. And slow motion use it but don't try to copy move for move just get the basic moves and work out the timing yourself.
Hope this helps and good luck.

Re: Not A Noob, But is it only me thats having these 3 probl
To be honest with you i feel like the Extreme tracks here in EVo are much more completable than HD!! I dont feel Redlynx did anything wrong instead the physics of the Phoenix is certainly changed from the past but its just a Matter of gettin used to it.. I can advise u never to watch the replays from the top riders those are once in a zilion times extremly optimized runs, just start watching the less good replays like from 4999th rider on the leaderboards u will have much more clue of what to do for each track...

Re: Not A Noob, But is it only me thats having these 3 probl
Well thanks for the reply`s everybody, im still not entirly happy but thats life, dont think i `ll be getting the new DLC, whats the point ... i cant even complete this game ... not even bronze my main gripe is the "jelly ***" handling tho and the fact that u cannot brake without reversing? Why change the physics, dont tell me they havnt ... cos its so obvious ( not enuf gravity/down pull ) like ride a jack in the box sometimes ..annoying

they changed physics because they wanted to make it better
some things have changed for the better other things for the worse
the perfect bike doesn't exist and improving 1 thing can make something else worse
and the fact that its hard and gives new goals is a good thing because it is challenging and will give you something to come back too
also don't compare yourelf to the top players they have played this game for so long already it will take days or even weeks of doing nothing but playing trials to even match their playtime
on my first try of inferno 3 i didn't even pass the track, i didn't even do half the track
70hours of playing this game later ,i finally managed to plat it and this is while i was already decent on hd(could pass all tracks)

Re: Not A Noob, But is it only me thats having these 3 probl
The things you are complaining about are relatively "newbie". And I do not mean that as an insult.
COD is too hard? Jelly handling? Can't make it up some steep hills? Can't get a feel for the brakes?
If you decide to stick with it and improve your skills, you will laugh about what you used to find difficult.
But first I think you need to swallow your pride.
