    Wooden Walkways

'Wooden Walkways' by 'ANTWANthePAWN' Wondering what people think of this one.. Pretty short track. Limited myself to one object and a few effects to build the whole thing.

    Hi Antwan,

I thought I'd give you some feedback on your Wooden Walkways track that you asked me to play.

It was alright, but not too much fun. I'd give it about 3*, and as far as the tracks in my main trials, list I try to keep them at 3.5* (if not 4*) or above. So I don't think I'm going to add this one, but I'd like to see a future track you build with hopefully some of the improvements that I'll mention.

    1. My biggest advice would be to not limit yourself in your use of objects. I don't think I've ever seen a great track that only used one object.
    2. Try to decide on some sort of theme instead of a specific set or amount of objects. I wouldn't even say that your track really has a theme to it.
    3. You had multiple points in your track where there was lag. Lag is definitely something you want to avoid at all costs. The end of your track actually has lag and it then affects the final times. If you notice, a lot of the top times are either xxx.x00 or are some other easily divisible number.
    4. Your obstacles in the track were not of equal difficulty. The beginning was beginner-easy, and then that steep slope is almost like a medium-hard obstacle, and the end of the track is definitely beginner. Try to be consistent with your obstacle difficulties.
    5. The driveline was alright. I'm not sure if I have too much advice for you on that, but work on the things I suggested above first, and then try to make a solid driveline.

The length of your track was fine, btw. I wouldn't worry too much about that for now. Look forward to a future track from you.

Thanks Mike. Ill keep those things in mind, but part of it is my approach to trials. I always aim to try something different from my last track. As for lag.. I dont know man, its out to get me haha.. I am in the process of fixing my first track that was lagging because of grass I pasted everywhere, Huge mistake. Wooden Walkways didnt seem to have a fix though.. Tried everything.. Brought draw distance closer, tried removing all effects.. Even made EVERYTHING in the background a decoration. Had no affect on that one area slowing framerate.. It was worse at one point but couldnt seem to get rid of it. Did you really take 1st your first run though? I had just got the top spot on that leaderboard.

    Re: Wooden Walkways

I definitely didn't get 1st my first try. That would be a little ridiculous for any course because you just don't know what's coming next. It probably took me about 5-10 minutes, so maybe 20 or so runs to get that time. I improved my time twice after getting first. I just like getting a run in that I know is good for my ability, regardless if that's 1st or 50th.

    Re: Wooden Walkways

Well I guess fun to build doesnt always mean fun to play.. Its hard to create flow with big obstacles and when theyre falling apart ha, well im working on it.. Just getting started really, have a ton of tracks started but thinking of flow is a bit of motivation. Im definitely a thinker, need to apply myself however. Ill be sure to hit up your thread when I drop another track.
