Re: Aussie Nuf Man Tracks. New Track 6/6/12 - "Panel Madness

    Very cool track!
    2 complaints from me.

    1. That elevator! Make a nice fast and flowy track, but in the middle make the rider sit and wait for a few seconds?
    2. Loop-de-loops. Its a peeve of mine, but I feel they are incredibly overused and not as innovative as people think they are as they make them.

Minor complaints really. It is a terrific track, the effect of things popping out of the wall along with the clunk sound effect is pretty sweet. It is very well put together and everything works, no wierd bugs that I ran into. Good stuff!

Thanks for the imput Jook. im buildimg another track now so ill take that into mind. the first loop i used to give a bit more acceleration for the long 'red' section of the map. The second was just for fun.

i said before, i liked the elevator itself, but your right - too slow. i tried to make a panel that would just launch you up but all it seemed to do was "eat" the bike. so i kinda tried to make it more 'for show'.

well, both final and beta made 48hr and Week picks and this is only my second ever trials track. I'm really stoked!
So for the next track - no slow elevators and no loop-d-loops and i'll aim for red lynx picks

Looks really great from the video Aussie Nuf Man. Can't wait to play it. It reminds me a lot of GLaDOS setting up a new test room in Portal =D

Re: Aussie Nuf Man. New Track 26/06/2012 "Cloud Platform BET

Ill try this tonight if i get time on the xbox and give some feedback for you.

    EDIT:

Just played it a few times and here are my thoughts. Please bear in mind I'm no pro rider or builder so there could be flaws in my critique therefore I would suggest gathering feedback from more people if you can get a response out of them

First of all....excellent design. 5* all day, physics are all smooth....work well....no lag....looks great....a few floating parts but I'm sure thats just because it's a Beta version judging by the quality present in the rest of the track. Really is a clever construction!

I felt the difficulty was unbalanced because most of the track feels like a sightseeing tour through a wonderful floating physics course, but the second obstacle felt like a hard obstacle to me (again this could be down to my lack of skill though). The trouble with high speed courses is that it's tricky to keep the player thinking on their feet while maintaining top speed without the track becoming boring MO). It became a little stop-start if I didnt get every part correct...which will come to people who play repeatedly anyway. I only tried the phoenix so Im not sure if the scorpion would eradicate this?

I think if you balance the difficulty it will work better, the feeling I got was that this is a track that is built to show off your amazing physics and scenery, if that makes sense?

Re: Aussie Nuf Man. New Track 26/06/2012 "Cloud Platform BET

thanks mate. i'm still up in the air a bit about whether it should be a fast flower or a slow technical track. I want to do the slow technical but i'm finding it difficult to link obstacles together to drop the riders height (dropping from building top down a story etc). then again, the second half of the track has the fast flow i like to play personally.

I also think that making a medium (easy hard) trials track is more fun for most people who play.

and, ahh, yeah - floating parts are cos of beta version. i is more of a scorpion track but i have mad some changes to accompany the phoenix a bit better.

Re the last comment - thanks mate. I spent ages on the dam at th start and still ags from finishd...
