Glitched Skill Game Leaderboards After Patch? | Forums

I've noticed that after the patch, a friend of mine has posted scores in several skill games (specifically Ball of Steel and Exploding Man) and has been rewarded with rankings that aren't even close to accurate. For example, my Ball of Steel score is 140m with a rank of 62000. His score is 82m with a rank of 4000. Has anyone else noticed this?

New scores are placed above old scores. So if your score is pre patch, it is basically invalid now.

Well that's lame. I hope they're planning to fix this...

There's no need to fix it. It's not broken. Just get a new time and you'll be where you should be.

That's assuming that everyone is capable of posting a new distance. What about the people who were top 10 with maxed scores who are now being ousted by newcomers scoring bronze metals? Correct me if I'm wrong, but that seems at least semi-broken to me. It's not really a big enough deal for me to fret over, but I still thought it worth mentioning. Oh well.

Oh, my mistake. I misunderstood you. I just had a terrible run on Icarus Factor and it updated my score and ranking. Not broken after all.

I see this too, it's only in the four skill games they mentioned in the update so maybe it wasn't easy to wipe those leaderboards without messing with all the other ones.

They can't wipe as they have no idea if everyone glitched, so the safest way of validating the leaderboards is to place those who set a time when glitching is now not possible higher than those before.

Managed to repeat my ball of steel distance of 247.5 meters. 2.5 m away from plat AGAIN!!!

This should only really be an issue for the top 50 riders or so that actually cares.

I know what my results are and if they are ranked 1000 or 10000 I couldnt care less.

But for the top players (for example the Sphere where one player did the track in 2.30min and still was behind 4-5 players who managed to get a few extra inches of distance) its another story.

Yeah, I'm sure that a handful of people will still be pissed, but it's for the greater good. I didn't realize until later that it was only done to those 4 previously glitched skill games. The scores that I had are easily re-obtainable, so no harm done. I noticed that they've increased the Icarus Factor max from 730m to almost 1000m. I know some people who will be thrilled about that. Especially since it wasn't saving max runs - it would just prompt a B button press every time.

The good news is, I don't think a lot of people have bothered to replay those skill games just yet. Just got ranked 92 in Exploding Man. I'll bet in a month, my score doesn't even crack the top 5000.
