Seeing skillgames that are basically made for 2 players I just can't find a way to host any skillgame maps at all. Wether it's through local or online mp the skillgame tracks don't show up.
I was mostly considering your own Redlynxpicks track Foosball and a recent "Robot Boxing".
Is it possible to host them at all? There are also some tracks for example a couple of Wipeout tracks that lies under skillgames that would be cool to play like trial matches with friends.
Couldn't find anything about this though the search function.
It is not possible to host skill games.
However, some enterprising track creators have made tracks that are skill games for multiple players.
Someone who is more experienced with the track creator could explain this better, but basically you can create tracks that are skill games without calling them skill games, so that they can be multiplayer.
Ok, so it's not possible to host them, that's pretty much all I was asking.
But just on a sidenote, the track Foosball is made by Redlynx themselves (Redlynx live)and was among the first few maps available together with Angry Bikers, Jetpack a.s.o. This particular track is made for 2 players and is considered a skillgame. So how do you play it with 2 players if it isn't hostable. Can you play it with 2 players just by starting it in single player and have a second controller join in or what?... Can't really test that myself because currently I only have 1(working) controller available.
Skill Games are local multiplayer only. (Still hoping that this will get updated one day)
@Question Yea that's also meant to be played with a second controller using the local mp mode.
Aight, thanks for the nice and fast answers. Then I know what to do ^_^.
Yeah, as someone else just said, the multiplayer skill games are local only (the 4 player one available in "Example Tracks" via the editor, for example. It's well fun with 3 other people in your house - just tell them to bring their own controllers if you don't have enough).
There are a few skill games playable in online multiplayer, I think this is done by making a skill game, but saving it as a trials track basically. I can't think of any of that particular type of skill game right now though.
I'm still hoping for multiplayer skill games one day.![]()
The problem with skill games that are actually trials tracks, is you can't have skill games where the players interact with each other in any way due to dynamic physics being disabled in supercross games. A co-op map for instance, would be impossible.![]()
hmm i dont think its impossible if you look at the options and tools available in the editor.Originally Posted by James24993
Well you could make one for local multiplayer, but for a trials track, the 4 players are actually in different worlds, they can only ever see each other's ghosts and nothing they do in their "world" (such as hit a trigger) affects the other players.Originally Posted by dasraiser
Pretty sure it's impossibru![]()
not sure why you think it may be impossible when the editor for trials itself list PlayerID and controller ID's
