to redlynx regarding Gigacross - official track for ign uk

to redlynx. i have just played this track. its a supercross track. i wont put gamertags here just in case. the only reason i post this, and i know i probably sound like some sort of spoil sport or old grumpy man but i wanted to draw your attention to it. its not a terrible track. quite long and abit tedious but not the worst iv seen by far. the thing that struck me was the fact it has "official track of ign" in the title. now i may be being a bit harsh with this but ign to me is a group of gamers no? the quility of the track doesnt seem high enough for it to be actually made by ign or something they would associate with. the only reason i bother to post is if it is not actually by ign then not only has the track builder used the name, which would be downright wrong, but surely there could be legal ramifications for you guys, ie. redlynx. as a fan of the trials games and your intigration and communication with the players i figured it was only right to let you know about this POSSIBLE issue. if im well off track (no pun intended) with this then by all means close/lock/delete this thread. and if so i appolagise to ign and no offense intended. if i am right hopefully you can sort it and perhaps some sort of filter for such titles could be aranged.

    cheers

Re: to redlynx regarding Gigacross - official track for ign

I created a track called Islands of Skydonia, one of the writers of IGN UK posted a tweet mentioning my track which i came across online, i sent him one back saying thank you, and he then asked if i'd like to create them a track, which i did, Gigacross. this was the 4th attempt i had at making one, i spent ages designing over and over, all different designs, until i was happy with one, this one.
I know it's still not a perfect track, but it's still pretty fun, especially for multiplayer. Due to the length, the large IGN UK sign and the fact its a Supercross track, the complexity meter filled up pretty fast, but Tom Butler, the writer from IGN said he liked it, and once again posted a tweet about it, which was Retweeted by IGN themselves, so I'm pretty sure they're OK with it.

It's all about trying to make it the entire length, much like Gigatrack, Gigatrack isn't a particularly impressive track, it's just massive, and that's what makes it cool. Gigacross has still got a 4 star rating and is on the Top Rated Supercross tracks page, so it must be doing something right.

if you look for @TomButler and @Lukeyy19 you should find the tweets.

consider me put in my place then lol as i said no offence was intended it just struck me as one of those names to get attention. if its all cool with ign then power to ya man. i can see how the length would affect the comp meter. i like gigatrack aswell and am making one of my own. single player tho so hopefully wont be quite as restricted as you were.

I don't have anything to say about the quality of your track, but that is not evidence that it is a good track. Ratings mean absolutely nothing when 90% of people on Track Central are technically ******ed. Please don't use this as evidence that your track is good.

true, but like I said, it at least means it's doing something right, people are still enjoying it.
