... I wonder if Trials Evo will count that as a death on my stats.
Anyway, I managed to get down to 2 faults on test you might, when I close my eyes all I see is extreme tracks. When I fall asleep Im pressing this combination of buttons without waking up, start, up, A, A, A, A.
Why do I have to practise to get better, cant I just drink and smoke to make myself better, like I do with conversation and work.
its only been just over a month mate, 2 faults is superb!
if you dont get 0 within a few weeks, you'll easily get it at some point later on![]()
gotta say, even though im still at 5 faults on it, i think it will be less work getting 0 than it was on midnight club.
without the practise you'd never get that great feeling when you manage it![]()
i'm moving onto TYM now. i was never gonna try to do it properly cos it's above my station as a player, but i figure i may as well give it a crack. would LOVE to have everything platinum.
anyways, good luck.
@WILLYUMZ - I never managed to 0 fault midnight club, I only got a plat on it in the last couple of weeks before Evo came out and that was scraping through with the max ammount of faults possible for a plat. As far as I am concerned these extremes are easier than in HD, not because the levels themselves are easier, but the Pheonix is a lot easier to get over the extreme obstacles
@ben1bob - I didn't think I had a chance of getting plat on this, after a while just playing the tournie over and over, (not restarting if you do worse than your previous run) it just seemed to click, the hardest part for me is changing from trying to do the track as quick as possible. play safe, when i first got the plat I was the slowest person with 5 faults. Have a go, I'll bet you'll have the plat in a week or so
agreed, the phoenix is far more capable and even though there is 7 tracks in this one, the first 3 are fairly easy zeroes.Originally Posted by Ragmen86
i also think if you could have restarted Diabolic as many times as you wanted without backing out in HD,
a lot more people would have got it zeroed/platted.
Haha wait and seeOriginally Posted by WILLYUMZI've been stuck at 1 fault on this tournament and have put at least 20-30 hours into it. It's so hard to 0 because you literally can't make a single mistake. I can 0 everything really consistently at this point but I ALWAYS pick up a stupid fault somewhere.
true, it is quite handy, the ammount of times I've faulted on the first track of TYM and just restarted, having the back button work properly on the first track has prob saved me around 10 - 15 minutes play time in total, just wish there was a way to restart the whole tournie with just 1 or 2 button presses
@NonRedOrchid - I'm still not that good yet, on an average run ill get between 8 and 16 faults, so I'm just spamming the tournie in the hope of having a lucky run
Ragmen, there's a herb known as St. John's wort that will calm you down when you reach Way of the Ninja.
I've been hitting TYM pretty hard these last couple weeks myself, and I agree it's pretty murderous. I got the plat over a week ago after only a couple days of practice (3f@7:09), and I thought oh I got this, since most of my time spent with Evo has been on the Extremes anyway. Sure enough, that turned out to be a lucky/inspired run, and mostly I've been hovering around 5-10 faults per run. I've only made it past The Wreck with 0f a handful of times (a couple times in an hour is apparently really good for me), and I haven't made it past Dark City with a total of 0f once. Fastest run was 4f@6:30, but even with 7:09 I am king of the 3-faulters![]()
For practice, instead of spamming the tournament over and over, I'll play the single tracks themselves, focusing on consistency. If I make a mistake at a certain part, I'll hit that part again and again until I can hit some target (3 times in a row, 5 times in a row, etc), and I'll try not to move onto the next track until I've made a full 0f run 3 times in a row. This was my approach for 0-faulting Midnight Club in HD, and what I saw was that after a few weeks of this, every actual attempt you make you're taking strong shots at a 0f run. I think I've crossed the halfway point with this hopefully? I'll see after another week I guess. I can usually put in an hour or two per day if I don't get sucked into MP.
