New track 'Moonlit forest' | Forums

Hey guys I've got a new track. I don't like the fact that lots of hard and extreme maps are uploaded to track central because sometimes easy and medium tracks can be just as fun. That's why I made this map quite flowing without too many impossible jumps. Please tell me your opinions. Constructive critism is welcome!

Map was pretty good, it was good seeing medium tracks pop up!

The main thing I didn't enjoy about the map was the lack of lighting. While it is a "Moonlit" forest, trees definitely do cover up giant portions of the map. Some soft off-camera lighting would be great, and some more background trees would really make the map stand out. And some music and ambient sounds would have made this spot-on. It's very close to being a really awesome map!

Thanks for the feedback! The main reason I didn't add more trees was because they are quite complex and lower performance. I added some forest BGM but it's hard to hear over the rain and if you turn it up too much, the bird noises get annoying.

Thanks for the ideas though, I will use them in future tracks!

Maybe you could have a thick background fog with some clever lighting and particle effects? There's definitely potential here for a beautiful ride!

Yeah, you're right. The fact that everything is so clear in the background kinda ruins the illusion of it being night time. Maybe some black fog would work...

I played through and it was a fun fun ride, although I do agree about the fog it would add a lot to the atmosphere of it! My only complaint was the sudden snap of the camera when you have to backflip, it caught me off guard and made it harder to stick the landing. That's just my initial impression and after you know it's coming it's not as bad. Still a pretty good track though.
