    Trouble with Tower Crane (pic)

    I built this Tower Crane (see pic below) in my track but it will not stay in the swung position if you reset at a checkpoint on the building. I am using an Object Position Event, Linear Curved Data Source and an Interval Trigger set at 1.
    When you drive off the suspended platform a checkpoint triggers a bike lock and the crane boom swings around with the suspended platform for your departure from the building on the other side. It works great unless you crash and are sent to one of the check points on the building, in which case the crane boom is back in the start position and you are left stranded 'Reset at checkpoint' is unchecked for everything. What do I need to do to keep the boom to stay in the second position ?

    by everything is unchecked do you mean trigger, impulse, OPE and curved datasource ?

    Firstly, The level looks properly mighty impressive!!! Good work!!!


    I'd say try using a Character data source that disables ALL of the Curved/Linear data sources in the event of a crash. I'm also guessing that the character event would need to be disabled by default and only enabled during the area of the map where the problem occurs.

    Also, make sure to test every way you can possibly crash/bail/flip/fcuk-up to make sure the problem is solved.

    I think you need to go under advanced physics on every object on your crane and make sure that "Reset Position on Checkpoint Restart" is not checked off. Doing it for the data sources is not enough, you also have to do it for the objects.

    That was it, fixed. Thanks for the help. The map/track is pretty much done now, just a little fine tuning. Anyone interested in testing for medel times? Send me an Xbox message and I'll set up a room.
