So how many controllers has the trials franchise lead you to break in frustration?
I'm at 2.5
I haven't broken any due to frustration, but I've worn down the left thumbstick on a couple controller from pressing too hard for too long![]()
Love the game, but man, I need to give this crap up. Being perfect is hard.

The bumpers and the battery cartridge. The other two are in a hundred pieces.
And I keep coming back to it over the years. It's just so good.
Anger management would save you some cash.
I've never broken a controller out of anger, but Trials is definitely a game that makes me wear out the left thumbstick.
I normally use controlled, precise motions with the stick in most games I play (as opposed to jamming it around button-mash style like a lot of people do) which lets me to keep the same controller for years longer than my friends keep theirs. In fact, the controller I bought the day my brother and I split our first 360 during the first week of the 360's launch still works perfectly. The only reason I don't use it is because I bought a corded one later on, and use it on my PC and Xbox.
But damn, Trials alone has gotten my controller's thumbstick feeling like it grinds a little bit. I have to do quick, jammy motions to do some of the movements in the game (sometimes the D-pad is a replacement for that.) But it's still worth it.

Whoever breaks controllers because of Trials are approaching the game incorrectly. We all will crash multiple times every time we boot up the game. The key is to understand why you are crashing and modify your pad input and see what happens. Dance with the game and let it tell you what works and what is bad.
What I do when I crash, I restart the whole track and instantly forget the last try and focus on the present run. Over and over and over again.
FIFA 12 on-line? Oh dear, I went through 4 Xbox controllers on that devil of a football game!![]()
So would getting a life. Easier said than done.Originally Posted by Killipo

I have gone through like 6 controllers since HD first dropped. Never once broke one from anger, just wore parts out. Well, technically they still kinda work. Thumbstick loose their spring and so do the triggers. I am kinda anal about my controllers, I love the feel of a new one, cant stand a thumbstick that has a bit of "wobble" to it..
