I got around to thinking about this. Do you think Tack Central is larger and more successful than what RedLynx imagined it'd be?
I ask this because it seems that finding good tracks among the terrible ones is incredibly hard to do (unless it's in the highest rated or RedLynx Picks sections). The fact that are just so many tracks already available make me think that RedLynx needs to employ a number of enhancements and updates to Track Central. Here are my suggestions:
1. Increase the number of tracks in each section from 50 to at least 200. Or, you should have an option once you scroll to the bottom of the list to "Load 50 more."
2. Give players the ability to search by track name. Also, make it to where searching by Gamertag doesn't have to be case-sensitive.
3. Add a "Friend-Recommended" section. Players could not only rate tracks but also "recommend" them so that they appear in this list. You obviously wouldn't be able to recommend your own tracks because they already appear in the "Friend created" section.
4. Give players the ability to create track playllists. For instance, when playing a private multiplayer game, all downloaded tracks are lumped into one giant list which can consist of hundreds of tracks. It would be so much more convenient if I could choose my "Surreal" playlist for the Rainbow Road tracks and others.
5. Increase the time alloted for selecting a bike in private multiplayer. I find that if I try to co-ordinate the bike selection with the rest of the lobby while selecting, the game starts before I have a chance to make the selection. I know we could all decide before the bike selection screen appears but what would it hurt giving player a few more seconds to decide?
I agree with you there and they're some good suggestions. I know exactly what you mean, I uploaded a track a couple of days ago and it must've been on the 'new trials' section for no more than 15-20 minutes, it only got 300 downloads... devastating![]()
It is devastating when you spend 20+ hours on a track just so it can disappear from Track Central in half an hour, not getting nearly the amount of attention it deserves. My Silent Hill track was like that. I spent a ton of time on it and it was only downloaded 261 times (and it's a very solid track in my opinion).Originally Posted by Skiboda
Some good ideas to improve the efficiency of Track Central.
The one item I agree with most is the ability to search for tracks by NAME/DESCRIPTION.
Multiple times I've went to search for keywords like "forest" or "evil" or etc. and went "Oh wait I can't actually search at all..."
More results in the filter sections would be great as well.
PS I'll go check out your track now cause Silent Hill rules and that sounds awesome

I'd guess about 1 in 10 is worth playing. Maybe less. The old TrialsHD method still works though, promote and search thru the forums is the best way to go.
100% agreed although I think tracks should be unlimited in each section (loading up new ones when you are on the end or shortly before the end of the page)

I agree with op here. Great ideas. And as far as track central being too successful. Yes but i'm so glad they have it. I dont even care about single player anymore.
As far as credit for tracks and such. I make tracks I'd want to play I don't care who plays them. My buds like them so yea cool. One of my tracks got over a thousand downloads in a matter of hours. I still don't care. I guess in the end I make it the best I can but expect nothing. Not trying to impress anyone.
there is a solution that i think would be pretty easy to police.
if someone shares more than one BAD track, they get a life ban from the editor![]()
I think it's important to note that even some of the top creators for THD would get *maybe* a couple hundred downloads of their tracks over the lifetime of the game. The fact that people are getting 300 - 600 downloads in a matter of days or weeks is nothing to complain about.
