    can you remove the bike?

as in just have the rider as a game character on his own. (granted he would be a ragdoll)

Yes. Check out the jet pack skill game. People have made the rider on other things as well.

They may just be using an invisibility event on the bike though. Some parts of the editor still elude my comprehension.

the jet pack is very cool but what iim wandering is can you detach the rider from everything. just have the rider model on its own?

I think there is an option for this in "Track Settings" in the pause menu of the editor, under Game Character.

Re: can you remove the bike?

You want him to just be a ragdoll?
    You could try making the bike invisible (bike settings, untick visibility) and have a filter;

'Game Running' = 'True' = 'Detach Rider event'

Then he'd just be a ragdoll, after a small explosion from his butt, of course.
If it's a skillgame, detaching him from the bike will not end the session. Or you can set it so it doesn't... I cant remember.

Edit: I made him ride an Atomic Bomb, if this is the kind of thing you're after I can explain a but more, you don't want him to ragdoll if this is the case.

Search Gamertag : 'Xiaou' and look for 'Atom Rider' if you want to check it out.

AW: can you remove the bike?

I want a ragdoll and then define his movement by my own. It would definitely make my work in the editor easier if I had several models. Would be even better if they are costumizable to some extent.

Although I've never tried, I can't see why that wouldn't be possible.
Once the rider has been detached from the invisible bike, define left stick controls (Or whatever) to directional forces glued (or physics joint) to him.

It sounds like you're looking for a blend between the 'S.P.H.E.R.E' and 'Explosion Man' minigames. But what do I know.
Hope you get it working, would like to see the result

Re: can you remove the bike?

iv kinda sorted out what i wanted. i had the bike out of camera and simply had a detach event rigged to the start checkpoint. the effect is quite satisfactory. it would be nice tho if it was an option to just have the rider model on its own from the start. maybe this could be added in dlc. an option in track settings perhaps. would make things somewhat easier for certain skill game constructions. im only making something simple in this case but for me its still fairly complecated to construct because im tbh a bit of a noob maybe when im done ill put it up here so you guys can see what i was going for.

This is how I did it:

    1. Hide the bike
    2. Freeze the rider
    3. Detach the rider from the bike
    4. Break the bike into pieces
    5. Move bike parts away
    6. Unfreeze rider

This way there are no strange explosions or sudden moves on the rider.
