changing the game cam on the fly, worked out!

hey guys. the other day i posted about changing the game came on the fly i.e if it was doable and how. still dont know if the game cam itself (the blue one in the editor) can be but i have found a solution. in my prvious thread, sombody said try an ope. i whent and watched cannibals video about ope's over and over till it sunk in. after getting it to work for myself i did it again but with a custom cam, with some alterations to the axis via an operation tab. then i had the cam activated by a trigger and cam event at a set point down the track. all i needed then was a second cam event to return to the game cam proper when i wanted it to. awsome. i guess many of you allready know how to do this but i just figured id put this here for those who dont. it suddenly gives a lot of options for cool cam angles whilst riding your tracks.

shall edit shortly with "somebodys" name because it was pretty much his idea.

*edit* "somebody" was SeriousStu. thanks for your advice. in the end, only one ope was needed with a constant interval trigger. to turn the cam on and off i simply used cam events at the desired locations.

    Glad you figured it out!

You could have just posted in your original thread and edited the thread title, but this is fine anyway, especially as you credited me
I see you made a thread about removing/hiding the bike... good luck with that! That's something I can't help with ( I know you can hide the bike or driver, but that's it).

Re: changing the game cam on the fly, worked out!

I'm working on a track that has four different custom follow-cams. I glued each to a dummy object, and use OPEs to keep the dummy objects on the bike. Then I can LB-select the cameras and move them to offset positions until they are each where I want them. Then it's triggers as you described.
