That's not exactly what I meant by it. Minecraft has very rigid rules for what is and isn't possible. People have yet to find the upper limits of what IS possible, but there are a lot of things that simply are completely impossible to make in Minecraft that can easily be scripted in Trials. I didn't mean to say that Minecraft promotes less creativity, I meant Minecraft gives you less power for creativity. And that's not an opinion. Look at Evo's editor, and tell me that it's not a fact that it has more power than Minecraft's creative mode.Originally Posted by Hitman

True, there's a very good reason it's such a hit. I don't think you'll find very many people in its target audience denying that. The only people I see here that are in disagreement are the ones that wouldn't like the genre to begin with.Originally Posted by Hitman
And that's your personal experience. I have fun in Minecraft, but it's always a different kind of fun. Minecraft is perhaps more engaging, and I can spend all night playing it, but it's not as exciting to me as Trials can be. Think of it as excitement Vs. Relaxation. I can't always play Trials to relax (unless I'm doing the editor) and I can't play Minecraft for high-speed skill-testing action. But I have both of them right next to each other on my XBox. Why do I need to pick one over the other?Originally Posted by Hitman
So do I. I am in fact addicted to both. I own Trials HD and Evo, and Minecraft PC and XBLA.Originally Posted by Hitman
Minecraft is like the "CoD" of indie and arcade games.
huge fanbase, ****ty game
I'm exaggerating but it's somewhat true and you know it![]()
I don't personally think that Minecraft and Trials are competing against each other. Xbox Live Arcade itself is a small market, and Minecraft brings new players to Xbox Live Arcade (who have never tried any XBLA game before). Maybe some of those players will eventually try other XBLA games such as Trials Evolution![]()
Like sebbbi said, different games.
It's like comparing Battlefield to Forza.
I can't say I hate MC since I hardly played the demo. But, it was certainly horribly tedious. I'll never understand why games that require you to do chores are so popular.![]()

I personally don't like MC at all, but the only real problem I have with it how much it costs, after all it's clear to see that it hasn't had half the development costs or time that a lot of other XBLA games have had.
In fact I believe that some of the clever trials level designers out there could make a single player version of mine craft with the editor in trials![]()

But then my brother got an Arcade 360 after his first one RRoD'd, and it came with Geometry wars and an XBLA disc. I tried those games, couldn't put them down, stumbled on DotW and bought some cheap arcade games, and that's what led me to try Trials HD which I bought at full price about an hour after I tried it. I haven't stopped buying XBLA games. In fact, it's just about all I ever buy anymore. My heart sinks every time Tuesday rolls around and the DotW is CoD DLC or something that isn't XBLA-related.
Shifty: I personally prefer the driving in Forza, and the vehicle customization. But that's just me.
MC is clever little game - Trials is much better though![]()
