Go play Trials HD for 10-20 minutes. It is soooo weird! I was playing brown boxes, my favorite, and I faulted over 30 times. Totally odd, because I pull brown boxes through all the time real quick in no time.
Evo is just so much... BETTER! Its much more smoother, faster, and it just feels better.
Trust me, try it for 15 minutes, youll never think Evolution made things worse in any matter.
HD was awesome, it is awesome, but Geezuz christ Evolution is just so much better.

i know i went back to HD the other day to compare and evo is so much better in terms of bike handling. the controls in HD seem stiff.

I done the same last night before i went to bed.
Went to check the leaderboards and played all the extremes, faulted 25 times on Pilgrimage ! I don't know how i used to play with those physics, Evo just seems so much better and smoother!!

I still prefer HD's Phoenix. Had to go back and play it quite a bit recently and it always feels warm and cosy. Less random faults.
I did the same thing. I went back to pick up an achievement I regrettably left behind, and couldn't for the life of me finish anything without more faults than the movie "2012".
The scorpion wouldn't wheelie, and the phoenix wanted to backflip just about whenever the wheels were touching the ground.

I tried HD a few days ago and landing back wheel first in HD is TERRIBLE! Couldn't get anywhere near my times.
