Cheaters are breaking my map
I made a map which took me a lot of time , it's called "2001:A SpaceOdyssey" and it's in this week most rated/downloaded, sadly there are cheap cheaters that already broke the previous map version, by glitching out and running to the finish line, and now they are doing it in the final update. I wasn't aware of the problem when I published the final update, and now they are breaking this leaderboard too, yesterday the first guy glitched out, I reported him and apparently his replay was removed, but his ghost remained, and other sad trolls cheaters are glitching out. For me they can do wathever they want, I wouldn't care if they glitch out, but the thing is there is so many of them and soon the leaderboard will be full of replays that only display the glitched map and I already received quite a lot of messages from the previous version of players asking me how to do the actual map because they saw the replays and didn't know.
After the pubblication I just don't have control over the map , is there by any chance a way to fix this problem, or is the map leaderboard doomed to slowly burn ?
By the way I don't even understand what is the point of breaking a custom map leaderboard, it's like raising the middle finger to the people who made it.

Re: Cheaters are breaking my map
Trials players are very competitive. If there's a shortcut in the map, they are going to find it and exploit it. It will eventually happen, and everyone will copy the shortcut to beat their friends time. Same thing happened to one of our own Trials HD official tracks (Underground). There was a shortcut that allowed to skip over half of the map. The shortcut was very very hard to perform, but still everyone in top 100 eventually got it.
Be sure to use fail areas (Common -> Game -> Fail Area) in your tracks. Fail areas can be scaled to be as big as you want, allowing you to easily fill all the areas you do not want players enter. This is a good way to fix shortcuts that would ruin your track leaderboards. Better be safe than sorry. Test your tracks extensively before submitting them to the track central. Once a track is submitted there's no way to remove it from the track central (unless someone reports it as offensive).

Re: Cheaters are breaking my map
Thanks for the answer.
Well then I guess it is what it is
It's not like I'm going to release the map for the 4th time. I knew how to use error areas, but the hole everyone is getting through was in a curve and while setting those areas clicking the right stick to center them on the line they made a hole since they can't curve. Also I though I deactivated the last checkpoint, but it seems I just deactivated the trigger effect.
Story short: user made maps aren't perfect and people seem to like exploiting them.

Dont stress too much, just remember that it usually means people repeatedly played the track in order to find that shortcut, i take solace in that anyway ! but i do know how you feel

Re: Cheaters are breaking my map
Dont stress it. I watched a replay of your map because I was told it had some cool stuff in it, but havent actually played it. If the replays were all glitched I would have had to play it. So it works both ways! lol Just keep doing what you enjoy and hope that you've covered glitches. As long as you enjoyed making it and people are playing it then be happy. The odds are only a small majority will be bothered about using a glitch in a custom map, th erest will use them in lobbies.
