Starting tonight I will be removing anyone with a beacon set for any game. I don't need to see you sign in, start playing the game I'm playing AND know that you want people to play that game.

So if you don't want to be removed, please shut off your beacons.

ya, beacons suck but i think u can disable them for yourself or just turn off notifications.

I'm not going to turn off all notifications just for a few people having beacons, I'd much rather remove them. I don't want to miss messages or invites.

Beacons are the worst thing ever.
I love setting my status to Busy and not getting popups.

im tempted with this aswell. the last xbox update was a joke but beacons are probably the worst of it.

some clown at microsoft brought this idea up at a meeting, they all nod their heads and say 'thats a great idea!' and not one of them asks 'is it useful? will it be annoying?'... just the same as the person who suggested lets make everything more easy for kinect users and less practical for the other 99%

my friends list is full or almost full and about 80 of them are Trials people, most of which play often.
getting a pop-up everytime one of 100 friends comes online is fine, getting an extra pop-up everytime someone starts up Trials is little annoying but another one still for people who have set beacons is too much.

if microsoft wanted to give us some options that were useful instead of pointless, in an update.. they should let us choose which notifications pop-up eg. you could turn off dave is online/ dave is playing trials/ dave wants to play with friends but leave on dave sent you a message/ dave wants you to join a party etc.

even better would be if we could group our friends. so for 'more important' friends, we could see all notifications, but friends that are on our list because we're too polite to delete them (we've all got some ) we could choose not to see any notifications, and any options in between.
