    Something hilarious to try...

I was playing around last night and came up with something that gave me a big case of the giggles. Give this a try when you need a break from track decorating.

I created a looped sound source of the crazy circus music and set it to "static." Then I used an object information datasource to track the player's position on the driving line. With subtraction and division operators, I got it so that the values ranged from about -20 at the first checkpoint, to about +12 at the finish line. Then I used this value to drive the pitch of the sound source.

Driving through the track is simultaneously disturbing and hilarious. When you start, the circus music plays slowly in a weird demented way. As you continue to drive, it starts playing faster and faster, turning into an insane frenzy. Navigating even the simplest obstacles becomes almost impossible.

I would have used it in the finished track if it didn't completely destroy the theme. I may or may not have a use for it in the future, but feel free to steal the idea for your own track if you like.

Yeah, it's great fun attaching the pitch of sounds to dynamic values. You can get some really interesting results, including makes sounds that sound almost completely new.

For a track I'm making, I've managed to get a sound that fires at regular intervals. Each time it plays again, a Curved Data Source adjusts the pitch over time. The sound effect I'm using is the Horn sound of a boat, and it's create a pretty convincing 'alert' siren sound effect.

Yeah, the boat horn is pretty freaky if you take it down a couple of octaves!

I was thinking about making a skill game to test how well people can ride when they are constantly being subjected to ear splintering sound effects.
