    Another Question about Leaderboards...

Sorry for the 1000th question, but I think I have most worked out about this game apart from this.

I have been playing online and got platinum on all beginner, easy, medium, and first half of hard with golds on every other track (taking as much care to 0 fault as possible). Same with tournaments.

On the leaderboard a guy who has all golds for beginner, easy, medium, hard and bronze on extreme is above me. Is this possible? Maybe something to do with the tournaments? Or is this another example of score miscalculation.

Sorry for another question about the leaderboards, I am really addicted to raising my position on the leaderboard hahahah

    thanks again guys

sounds like he was one of the ones who got glitched on day one of the games release.

if you go to the Support section then sebbbi (RedLynx) says they are fixing the leaderboards right now. so hopefully you'll move above him very soon

    Re: Another Question about Leaderboards...

It's entirely possible that he is above you in leaderboard. He might for example have just one gold medal in many difficulty categories, and all other platinums (for example I had just one gold medal in Gigatrack and all other medals in medium were platinum, but the medal shows gold in this case). Also not all golds are equal. If you play the tracks slow but steady and zero fault everything (with gold medal) you get almost as much score as you get from platinums. The same is true for tournaments. Each track/tournament with a fault can drop your score by around 200k, while the distance from a slow (but zero fault) gold medal to a super good platinum time is much smaller (somewhere around 50k or even less).

Zero faulting is the key to good score. After you get zero from everywhere (except "Test Your Might"), you should start improving your times. Remember that skill games do not affect your global ranking score, but tournaments do. Zero faulting tournaments can be time consuming, but will improve your ranking in a big way.

I have a quick question about Test your might. I went from 158 faults to 70 faults and got no score added to my leaderboard. Why did i not get any score at all? I went from silver to way above gold and got nothing.

Also people are above me on the global that have no medal level for extreme and no plats. Im 700 on global and have almost all plat and tons of top 500 times.

You only really start earning points below 4ish faults on any track/tourney

Just checked your scores there, you have loads of faults on tournaments. If you can 0 fault every tournament except TYM you'll skyrocket up the leaderboard

Ya, i suck at tournaments, i just figured for TYM you wouldent need to be below 4ish faults to get good score, like other tournys. If i get down to 20-30 faults on TYM i would be really happy, i dont think i could do much better than that lol

    Re: Another Question about Leaderboards...

If you have more than 5 faults in a track or tournament, you only get very little points (less than 1k). For the best possible time you get around 300k-400k. So basically a five fault run is pretty much worthless to your global ranking.

However a gold medal gives you 100% completion for a track/tournament, so if you are aiming to get 100% total completion, gold medals are enough for that purpose (faults or time do not matter).

Almost, except in Evo there is actually a linear component to the score in addition to exponental score. Each fault you remove is always worth at least 100 points.

I went from 9 faults to 6 on TYM and got 60,000 points? So confused.
