Fantastic Voyages Tournament - which bike? | Forums

Have you guys got any preference over which bike is best on this tournament? In general I prefer the Phoenix to ride but of these particular 6 tracks, 4 of them I favour the Scorpion and 2 of them the Phoenix.

Fantastic Voyages tracks:

1) Titan Graveyard
2) Castle Crash
3) Suspense
4) Mind Bender
5) Trials of Limbo
6) Archipelago

Since you have to use the same bike for the whole tournament which one do you use? I tend to use the Phoenix because I usually mess up on 'Trials of Limbo' and since this is my preferred bike on that annoying track I figure I've got more chance of getting Platinum if I go with the Phoenix.

Edit: Forgot to say, particularly keen to hear from you guys who have already got Platinum - Which bike did you use? Did you try both?

I tried and tried with the Scorpion and always faulted somehow.
First time I tried with the Phoenix I did it.
Ben1bob did the exact opposite.
I don't think it really matters too much which can only be a good thing.

@Euphoric: That's really useful to know, thanks. I figured I'm most likely to get a 0 fault run by sticking with the Phoenix but (in my mind) it's at the expense of a potentially much faster run through the whole tournament on the Scorpion. I just couldn't make my mind up which I should be using.

So, Phoenix it is then ... atleast for the time being!

I could be wrong but looking at those tracks I'm almost certain that the phoenix has a much higher potential in terms of speedrunning the tournament. I dont think you would be sacrificing anything by using the phoenix.

I got my platinum time with the Phoenix yesterday, and my next goal is to try to beat it with the scorpion. I'm pretty sure that I can do it.

yup, did it once with the phoenix, slow time (5:06 i think), but it didn't save to the leaderboards. played another 2/3 hours and couldn't get it!

EF reckoned i should try the scorpion so i did and did it easy. i find Trials of Limbo easier with the scorpion...
