Basketball Ring Howto? | Forums

Hi Guys,

I've been trying to make tha basketball go through the ring. Like others i found out that it does not work because the ring has an invisible wall inside of it.
With advanced physics i can make the go through but then it also goes through the whole ring object.
However after carefully whatching replays it seems some creators found a way.

Can someone who actually got it to work pleasy explain it to all of us?

To RedLynx: Best game ever on XBLA! But i cant understand, why can't the ball pass through the ring?
Or is it just me who has not understood the editor completely?

I made a basketball skillgame with multiple balls but i had to improvise on the baskets offcourse. For those who would like to try it:

This is just an idea, I've never tried to make a basketball skill game, and I'm sure there is an easier way to do it.

You could make the basketball goal decoration only, then get some custom collision objects and use all the different shapes to recreate the basketball goal and just don't put anything where the ring is. Pretty much where ever the image of the goal is put a custom collision object there, that way the ball can go threw the goal, but not threw anything else.
