Issues with screen tearing and slow down.

Noticed that a semi-complex custom object I created and laid down about 15 seconds into the track appears to be causing screen tearing and slowdown at the very beginning of the course. I've already tried lowering the object draw distance and making a lot of background elements at the start decoration only.. any other ideas?

    Thanks!

    what is the object ?
does it contain a lot of the same item in different orientations ?
is it glued together as one object ?
object properties etc ? (eg is physics active etc)

the worst case of screen tear / framedrop i had was when i had a lot of car wrecks all over the place in my background / foreground, they where all decorations but didnt help much, removing some of the wrecks improved the framedrop but still has some slight screen tear.

It's an object primarily made out of a bunch of blocks from the rock category. I do have them at several different angles and overlapping each other quite a bit. Currently glued together. Physics off I believe.

Don't glue unless it's physics based. Always use group if you need to tie objects together for moving.

Yeah, nothing I tried worked (un-gluing, setting objects as decoration only etc..) - what finally did work was turning off the headlight on the front of the bike.

It's strange that the catalyst was an object 15 sec into the track nowhere near the range of the bike's headlight but, whatever.. it's running smoother now,

Maybe the complexity meter should be more accurate in regards to the big picture?
