I had a Fire - Rocket effect glued to an invisible High Explosive Bomb, I went to change to effects variation from 1 to 2 and the moment I do it freezes. It did this again the exact same.
When I unglued it and changed the variation it didn't freeze. I don't know if this is specific to my console/game or can happen with anyone. And aren't sure if this happens when glued to any object. But just in case thought I'd post it so others don't freeze their game.
