Unyielding 2 achievement - Micro bike not unlocked

I bought the full game earlier this week and after a good hair pulling hour+ of trying to get this achievement, I got it.

Great! awesome!!!! felt wonderful. Only 3 kittens were kicked down the stairs in the process.

Now wtf? I can't select the bike and it says it's still locked...... what gives?

*edit* Oh jesus f'n christ, Sorry everyone... yes, besides the ktitens some beer was involved. I do not own trials HD.

oh wonderful, gotta buy 2 games in order to unlock 1 bike. Really? Come to think of it, I haven't played this game sober yet. So there you go. Never mind.

I love redlynx, but it's kinda sad how they make you buy their previous game to unlock a bike.
The t-shirts and cosmetic items are understandable............ but the microdonkey, thats evil.
    Shame on you Redlynx.

They only charged $15 for Trials Evolution.

Many companies threat old customers badly (new customers get all kinds of bonuses that old ones do not get) and people rightfully complain about it. We just wanted to give our old loyal customers a bonus present, because without you Trials Evolution wouldn't even exist. We even added a virtual Ultimate Endurance t-shirt to the game, as someone who got the real t-shirt (for completing the original super hard marathon) complained that he wanted a virtual t-shirt instead. Now you can wear it virtually as well (if you have the Marathon achievement). You should take it as fan service.

The Micro Donkey isn't better or faster than any of the ingame bikes so it's not like those that have it are gaining a game-playing advantage. Perhaps RedLynx could make it available to buy for 160msp or something for those that really, really want it but don't want to buy the previous game?

Personally, I'd just buy Trials HD, you're denying yourself the chance to play the 2nd greatest game of all time if you don't!

RedLynx is a great company and I hope this bonus system expands game after game. It makes me feel that I didn't just waste my time with the previous game because of it.

I don't think they are doing it to try and get more people to buy the first game just to unlock the micro donkey, but rather to thank players for supporting them over multiple games. Heaps of other developers do this kinda thing in sequels.
Believe me, you're not missing out on anything by not having the bike. It is not particularly fast and easily has the worst handling of any bike in the entire franchise. It is a gimmick bike that is kinda fun to tool around on but is not much use for anything else.
Also, if want it that badly and are enjoying Trials Evolution, you should just buy Trials HD. It's awesome fun and already has two lots of DLC tracks.
