    Area effector and particles trouble

Im trying to make an area effector blow some fog across my driving line. I got it to work just fine except as soon as you put the fog down, it blows away. Even in the editor with it paused. I have the area effector being controlled by a physics event and that is triggered by an area trigger that is set to trip on rider and bike.

To be clear, I also have the area effector set up to blow away a piece of wood. I don't know if that matters. The wood doesn't blow away until I hit the trigger but the fog takes off as soon as I place it.

The only thing I can think of that I haven't had time to try is to make the fog invisible until I hit the trigger.

Thanks in advance for the help. This is a great and really helpful community.

Re: Area effector and particles trouble

Fog and Cloud Effects cannot be moved by Area Effectors or animation as they are not emitted particles. They are simply 'there' and do not animate like the other Effects do.
Try using large Smoke Effects with the Alpha set low instead.

Re: Area effector and particles trouble

I guess I shouldn't have said fog. It's actually the mist effect that I'm using. It blows away as soon as you place it in front of the area effector. That's a great idea though using the smoke since its renewable. Can you change the color of smoke? I need it to be a red color since my track takes place on mars. Either way, I have my dust storm worked out and should publish hopefully this week. I bet I have at least 40 hours in my track.
    Thanks for the feedback!!!!
