If I remember correctly, the video tutorial said that R3 snapped objects to the driving line... but I can't get this to work. I'm pretty much crippled without this feature as aligning objects with the line manually is far too time consuming. Help?
yep clicking the right stick should get things to snap to the line, it works for me![]()
you have any more information? i cant think of anything you could be doing wrong.
Make sure that you don't have the 'Snap X', 'Snap Y', 'Snap Z' boxes checked off in the 'Editor Settings' menu when you are in the editor.
Having these boxes checked will snap the objects to an invisible 'world' grid, regardless of driving line.
It's kind of silly, I had the same problem as you and found out that was the cause. It's a bit tedious because if you want to align something with another object, it's really useful to use the snap settings, but then you need to turn them off once you are done or you can no longer snap to driving line.
D'oh! That was it, thanks dude. Time to get creative!Originally Posted by MikeBMT
The driving line snap is really useful, but don't be afraid to make your own snapping object. Selecting your own object lets the snap be along any of the same axis of that object. Very useful for spinning objects so they won't spin "derpy"
