    Re: Stonehenge

Thanks, will do. Yeah it was an obvious theme so I thought I'd get in early. Still, would love to see anyone else's take on it.

Re: New track by Nanocrystal - The Dark Tower

Dark Tower is amazing . The tower itself is very well themed, and a couple of the scenic vistas are truly awe-inspiring. Though IMO, it would greatly benefit from some more surrounding details and different environment settings.
The driving line is pretty fun and has a good flow to it. There are just a couple of spots where the difficulty level feels slightly unbalanced, particularly one section with a steep slope with a jump at the top to a higher platform.

The only section I really didn't like was the elevator. Unlike the rest of the track, it stops you dead in your tracks without warning and makes you wait. Since the curved driving line limits your view of what's ahead, there's nothing there to indicate that you're supposed to stop and wait instead of just speeding straight over it.

Overall, It's an excellent track, and I hope to see it in Redlynx Picks.

Re: New track by Nanocrystal - The Dark Tower

Thanks for the feedback nannerdw. About the environmental settings, I tried for several hours to get a spooky night-time feel, that was my original intention. However, I struggled to find settings that would allow a good, clear view of the full tower at the start (something I'm really pleased with and am not willing to compromise on). Also, with the bike's headlights switched on I started seeing serious lag. So in the end I kept the current settings which I agree don't match the overall theme as well as they could. As for surrounding details, they also caused lag. I actually reduced the draw distance as much as I possible (it's set to the distance between the start of the track and the tower summit, again for the view at the beginning) and even went around the surrounding countryside deleting all the random objects laying around.

Your criticisms of some of the obstacles are spot on and other people have said the same. Particularly, I've seen on replays that most people barrel straight over the elevator on their first go. This is one of those things that I should have foreseen I guess. If there's demand for it, I may tinker with this part of the track and release an improved version.

    tl;dr Thanks for the feedback!
